Funciona perfecto e incluso mejor que en windows una vez configurado a proton experimental y poniendo los parametros de inicio.

Heavy lags during longer play session. Got fixed with the LD_PRELOAD="" option.

LD_PRELOAD="" %command%
Игра отлично работает, рекомендую в параметрах запуска прописать LD_PRELOAD="" %command% и все будет работать идеально. Без данной опции возможны сильные торможения при долгих сессиях игры. Но после данной опции все идеально работает на последнем стабильном протона.

Good Gameplay Fps drops only when you open up your inventory
FPS drops only when you open your inventory

Great perfomance and stability. Runs as it if it was native with all features (incl. Multiplayer) using GE-Proton9-26.
Important Note: For Multiplayer to work you need to use Proton-GE. Using normal Proton, the game wasn't able to connect to the steam servers, but with GE it worked flawlessly. (Tested with Official Proton 9 and GE-Proton9-26)
If you don't play in multiplayer mode, you can use Steam's default Proton, it will run perfectly fine. For Multiplayer to work you need Proton-GE.

Worked out of the box, I was the host for the session.
Technically in this session, I was the host for two of my friends using Windows to connect.
This is the first time I recall playing Sons of the Forest on a Linux system. It ran great out of the box for me. For this gaming session, I was the host, and two of my friends on Windows connected to my game. We played for something around 4 hours with no issues.

Horrible performance
<15 FPS
used Proton9.0-4, Experimental
I personally had more issues on Windows with the same hardware

PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 mangohud %command%
I experience audio crackling on cpu demanding titles, but the launch arg "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30" fixed it for me. You can try upping or lowering the latency depending on your system.
Game experiences slowdowns over long play sessions.

Performance degrades significantly during long sessions, otherwise good
Game seems to suddenly (not gradual) slow down every new in-game day, requiring me to lower the graphics settings level one step each time it happens. After a couple of days it runs very slow even at lowest settings. Changing back and forth some settings (or the overall level) can sometimes improve performance a bit again.
Several long sessions with two friends without any issues (aside from game bugs)
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 WINEFSYNC=1
items in inventory slow load after start game with options its bit better

Works just like in Windows.

None
In multiplayer, when I was in the Rope Gun cave, I would randomly get massive frame drops. From ~100 FPS to around 20, and then 3 when I open my inventory.
Absolutely no problems playing multiplayer. No crashes, no instability and best of all: no anti-cheat. Game works seamlessly.
Game works great, multiplayer is great out of the box and no issues running the game otherwise. Aside from the random frame drops that I got in the Rope Gun cave, the game works just like it does on Windows.

Works right out of the box
When using media control buttons on my keyboard the mouse partly escapes the games capture and you can end up clicking another window if you have multiple screens. But changeing the focus to another window and back fixes it until the next time using media control buttons
Playing on a dedicated server running with Wine emulation works perfectly fine for linux and windows players together
The session was hosted on a windows pc

Worked without problems with Proton 9.0-4. However the Game froze in the Start Menu while using the Experimental or Hotfix Branch.

Will need more actual hours but seems to work for now
The performance was bad, but it's playable

Runs great, but inability to use RedLoader kinda sucks if you want it to be modded Otherwise its perfect without bugs

Work`s cool out of the box. I didn’t even have to touch the graphics settings, the game itself chose the optimal parameters.
Not all mod loaders work. Tried RedLoader, MelonLoader - didn't work. Only BepInEx worked, with minor crashes in highly loaded scenes. But the game works great without mods, so it doesn’t really affect the gameplay :)

The game itself works fine Couldn't get any mods to run via the redloader tho

A LOT of VRAM leaks. Everything else works as expected.
Works perfectly fine with WIndows players.

Runs without any issues
Played without issue with frinds for some hours.
Runs totally fine. Had no FPS drop even after playing for some hours.

The game laggs a lot 15 fps is not enough even on lowest when on windows i had higher settings and more fps
Normally on windows medium settings i would be played around 60 fps but on proton i had 15 fps after loading into the map
the fps issues
The longer you play the more the FPS dips. On my system from 165 FPS to 24 FPS with play time of 4 hours.
Easy fix to just go back to menu and rejoin.

FPS count too low to play.
very low fps. Also after I would stop walking it would continue on its own. Other movement such as hitting would always occurs instantly tho.
Occassional desync with host.

Works out of the box

Game issue, but I would reccommend FSR or DLSS with Quality mode. Over time as you progress (Day 225 for example) and your base expands out big, lag starts to get noticeable.
No problems whatsoever when playing with other players. Doesn't matter what OS their on.
SOTF works perfectly straight after installation; there is not a single crash nor audio issue in sight. I played it on Windows heavily, and it's the exact same great experience. My biggest gripe with this game is the optimization as you build a mega compound. My FPS at base is 30-45, then out in the sticks is 100+ (even with FSR on).

MP worked great, connected with a windows player no problem.
Everything just worked.

Perfect out of the box experience

Runs perfectly fine
Game performed as expected in terms of online multiplayer.
The game runs amazingly using the latest stable version of Proton at the time of writing (which is 9.0-2 incase it's not accurately reflected in the initial review). Had no issues with online MP, audio, and graphics, and my FPS was pretty consistant (if not better) with what I was getting with the latest stable version of Windows 11.

Overall solid impression and performance
The longer I played the more the fps tanked, but i think this bug might be correlating to X11 or Nvidia.

__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
Crackling until I added the command line options above
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H (Ryzen 7 5800, RTX 3070). Fresh install of Nobara 39 Official, AMD & Nvidia GK drivers, & Steam installed - the game would get to main menu OK, but when loading or starting a new game it would hang on loading screen at circa 75%. Waited for 5 minutes but nothing happened. Fiddled with various Proton versions and command lines found online but still no go. Eventually found "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia" on the Nobara website and it then worked perfectly. Still takes longer to load than on Windows, but runs perfectly.

Played through roughly 30 hours of this game, hosting a multiplayer game for the entire duration. Windows user was able to connect and play without any issues. We were able to complete the entire main questline without any random disconnects or crashes. Runs perfect on Fedora with Proton Experimental out of the box.
