Still flawless after 23 hours of multiplayer
Absolutely no issues whatsover. Rock-solid 60fps. Game only utilizes 5.60 to about 6Gb of VRAM (saw 6.2Gb once but restarted my game and never saw that again). Been playing all 23 hours with Windows users and getting no issues. Both of them occasionally experience the game freezing for a second but it is buttery smooth and no freezing on Linux (truly the year of the linux desktop).
Works flawlessly ootb so far
Works great, will play coop later with friends and submit another report if any issues arise.
Still works flawlessy OOTB after 40 hours, Cross-platform co-op too
After playing 40 hours and trying co-op with people on consoles and Switch I have had absolutely no issues. The only thing you might consider an "issue" is when you launch the game it may take around 10 to 20 seconds to see the EAC window popup and then the game will launch. Other than that everything has been flawless.
LD_PRELOAD="" %command% --launcher-skip --intro-skip --skipStartScreen -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
Game is notorious for optimization and stability issues, however, lowering the graphics settings, adding the first two launch options listed, and going to game properties > compatibility tab > and check the box for "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and selecting your desired proton version seems to have solved CTD/black-screen system lock-up issues. Other users have reported being falsely banned by the game's anti-cheat for using Linux. I will try to update notes if I experience this as well. All in all, very minimal adjustments needed to play so far.
-provider Portal
Use -provider Portal launch argument if you have an existing account. Worked flawlessly with very minimal effort.
Worked flawlessly on most recent stable proton version.
You might encounter some issues like no cutscenes playing if you use something other than the current stable proton release. Worked flawlessly ootb (multiplayer too)
Borked after recent update
After one of the updates the game has become virtually unplayable. When looking at the skybox/edge of the play area you get normal framerates, but as soon as you turn the camera to the center of the map/play area the framerate plummets to single-digit frames.
The devs are aware of the issue and are being very helpful. I'm going to keep troubleshooting and will update report with changes.
Works ootb with mesa
If you install and try to use amdvlk it will break your game, at least on a 9070 XT, possibly others too. Disregard my previous report.
Worked fine ootb for me
Works great ootb on mesa drivers. If you have a 9070 XT (might be issues on other GPUs too) and the official AMD drivers the game will perform horribly.
Use latest stable proton version. Servers are sometimes unplayable due to script kiddie.
Slight graphical glitching for a split second as the class select screen loads on respawn.
Game will occasionally crash immediately on startup
Occasionally the connection to EA in the main menu will be lost. Just click "connect" in the top left until you're able to connect to EA's """servers""" (this is an issue on Windows as well)
I'm assuming the same script kiddie that was ruining online play in Titanfall 2 is the one jumping server to server here making the game unplayable while they're at it.
Otherwise the game works almost flawlessly.
Users have reported weird mouse issues forcing them to use an older proton version (6.3-8), however the new proton 10 beta build eliminates the mouse issues. Hopefully this fix remains once the new stable version releases. Other than that everything works great ootb.
Not much to say. Having absolutely no issues with no effort other than your standard "4 clicks and a Steam restart to enable proton compat".
