Works out of the box
My wife and I are able to play split screen co-op with no changes or use of Proton. It runs flawlessly out of the box. We play with generic Xbox controllers (PowerA) on my PC. Ran a few sessions since Monday, Aug. 4th - Wednesday, Aug. 6th thus far. If scheduling goes as planned we will play again tonight. Only odd thing we've noticed concerning game play was if we have to break and leave the game up too long, when my monitors come back on, the game will move to my secondary monitor. That happens in a few other games as well, although I can't recall which games off-hand.

It works out of the box.
Some slight perfomance drops, but playing with a controller you don't even feel it.

Set to Proton 8.0-5, couldn't make it run with anything else.

it's a fun game, just wish it actually worked OOTB for me without losing about 4 hours trying to get it to work consistently.

Without the provided run options, i could not get the game to get passed launching to a blank screen, no matter which version of proton i used (offical, custom, etc) or which protonticks i applied the game just would be playable.

Works ootb with mesa
If you install and try to use amdvlk it will break your game, at least on a 9070 XT, possibly others too. Disregard my previous report.

Borked after recent update
After one of the updates the game has become virtually unplayable. When looking at the skybox/edge of the play area you get normal framerates, but as soon as you turn the camera to the center of the map/play area the framerate plummets to single-digit frames.
The devs are aware of the issue and are being very helpful. I'm going to keep troubleshooting and will update report with changes.

On the Steam Deck the game has the graphics setting locked by the dev. You can't access them in the game menu. The game is locked at 30 fps and uses custom setting by the dev. 30 FPS locked most of the time with some minor drops

Using Proton Experimental as my default, would probably work with stable one.

Worked flawlessly on most recent stable proton version.
You might encounter some issues like no cutscenes playing if you use something other than the current stable proton release. Worked flawlessly ootb (multiplayer too)
