Works perfectly, only chat doesnt work. It constantly says chat is reconnecting. Besides that the game works perfect.
Tried Experimental Proton right off the bat as that is what everyone else recommended. I can confirm it runs great on Ultra, no FPS drops.
Runs great in multiplayer 110 FPS average - although occasional stutters, but mainly at a beginning of a match
Occasional stutters, but besides that ran at 110+ FPS
Worked out of the box with GE-Proton7-14, no other tweaks made. Runs perfectly on my hardware on "High" graphics - Benchmark max FPS was 117
Not with this game, as the FPS was unplayable
Very low framerates in game, down to 5FPS - Main Menu is a solid 60FPS
I tried adding taskset -c 0-5 %command% as another user had recommended, but it only worked once... after closing the game and trying again, it went back to how it was previously, with 5FPS in-game and 60FPS in the main menu. I did not experience any issues connecting to the servers though.
Due to the bugs i experienced, its unplayable if you cant control the car.
Under PopOS 20.04 my keyboard or Xbox controller's throttle would get stuck and then lose all control of the car, with it stuck accelerating. Happens about 3 minutes into a round.
I had significant performance issues when running the game in Ultra graphics (which on Windows runs perfectly with 90+ fps). On High graphics, it works perfectly, with 130 to 170 fps. Seems to be a bug with Ultra graphics
Crashes when changing the graphics settings in the menu from the Main Menu (allowed me to change graphics while in the game).
Besides the Xbox Controller/Keyboard getting stuck accelerating... I also had an issue with the latest Proton version (5.13-4) where the game would crash with an Unhandled exception when changing settings in the menu, such as the Graphics settings. This did not happen in the previous Proton version, but in the earlier version, it doesn't connect to the servers for online save games/multiplayer (although i see there is a fix with that - haven't tested the certificate fix yet). It also will not play on Ultra and only has 4fps, compared to 130 to 170fps in High. But unfortunately is unplayable in High, since the controller or keyboard gets stuck accelerating... (I did not experience this issue with Ubuntu 20.04, only PopOS 20.04, so will do more testing).
Aiming on scope would get stuck and unable to get out of scope view, afterwards menu input would be glitching when paused.
Very stuttery - Tried in lower graphics settings but no difference.
Connected to online services with co-op no issues. But unplayable due to stuttering and input glitches
Ubisoft connect glitched out at one point also and said it wasnt installed, therefore i couldnt start the game. I had to uninstall Far Cry 5 and reinstall to fix, verifying files didnt help.
Xbox One controller wasnt being recognised properly, had to force enable "Steam Input" from preferences, instead of using the "Default". After that the Xbox One controller worked perfectly
Xbox One controller wasnt initially recognising properly. The accelleration would get stuck. But after setting the Steam Input to "Enabled" instead of "Default" in the steam game preferences, it worked fine.
Game would run fine during races, but once race ended and was going back to the main menu, it would crash.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Mouse wasnt clicking on menu's when pausing game. Only keyboard navigation
Very stuttery... if i didnt move id have a solid 75FPS (with vsync on). As soon as i started walking around it drops frame rates signficantly (30FPS) but then jumps back up and stutters back and forth as i walk around.
Native version doesnt recognise my GPU, very poor performance. Recommend Windows version with GE-Proton7-14.
