IF you are able to load a saved game, it will crash within a few minutes of trying to play. Have not been able to get it to run more than 5 minutes or so.
Uplay had some issues on initial launch, which seemed to go away if you ignored them. Uplay Connect would pop up a dialogue box in the upper right corner of the screen saying I had an "unsupported driver" and I couldn't figure out (in the short time before the game crashed) how to make it go away.
Aside from the above, I also noticed that if you ever try to bring up the steam overlay, to close the box about the CD key, for example, the game will freeze up.
Overall, I can't recommend this game right now. Unplayable with frequent freezing/crashing.
Popping at distance, clothing at lower frame rate. Also, as someone else noted, only use FXAA for anti-aliasing, otherwise large bars appear on your screen
Fullscreen with ultawide monitor resulted in everything being stretched, even when the correct aspect ratio and resolution was selected. If you play in windowed mode, it would work without any distortion in widescreen at the correct resolution.
Surprised that with my given hardware I still wasn't getting a consistent 60 FPS at only High (not Ultra) settings. Nothing game breaking, but frames could dip occasionally.
Uplay crashes at initial launch. If you close it and re-launch, it works fine. It always tells you there was a problem with cloud syncing your saves, and never remembers your login info, so Uplay will error every time you exit the game. However, I never encountered an issue loading my saved game and haven't lost any progress.
I'm a little disappointed I couldn't run this with maxed out settings given it's a game from 2015. But it runs well enough. Typical Ubisoft bugs in game, but nothing game breaking. Never had any significant crashes or other issues that prevented me from enjoying it. Your tolerance for graphic conditions may impact how you feel about the overall performance, but given that I got the game for pretty cheap, I certainly feel I got my money's worth.
Game ran great on Ultra settings. Experienced no issues. Online multiplayer with cross play worked as expected. Pleasantly surprised!
Cyberpunk is still a buggy game, even after the big 1.5 patch. That said, I didn't have any issues on Linux I didn't also experience in Windows. Even with decent hardware it's a struggle to get past 45 FPS without significant graphical downgrades. That said, still plays just as well on Linux with GE as I experienced it on Windows. No issues or bugs booting, loading saves, and general gameplay that can be attributed to the OS.
Boots up, loads to your home, then crashes when you try to go to open world.
Had no trouble installing or getting the game to launch. I was able to sign in with my Microsoft account, go through the initial optimization, and load to my current Home and current car. Once I got to the initial Forzathon menu, I can look around at the seasons, go through my garage, change your current car, customize cars, and I was even able to enter the character customization section.
However, every time I try to exit the home menu and start driving, the game crashes. It'll stall on the loading screen for about a minute then just crash completely. Tried a few times tweaking in-game settings in the main menu screen, but so far nothing has worked. Never have been able to get in a car and go drive. The open world section just crashes every time.
Even with graphic preset turned down to Medium I couldn't get more than 3 FPS.
Tried launching in both DX11 and DX12 modes, tried tweaking various graphics settings and presets and the most I could ever get the game to un at (on-world) was 3 FPS.
Most graphics never fully finished loading/rendering even after letting the game run for about 10 minutes with no player input.
Love the game on Windows, but sadly it's unplayable currently on Linux.
On "High" settings preset, in world I was getting 1 FPS. Disabling VSync and downgrading to "Medium" graphics preset, I was averaging about 16FPS (range of 11 to 18 FPS). In Windows with the same hardware I can get 60+ on High.
I tried to give this game another shot on Linux, as they've been continually updating the game (not to mention driver/Proton updates as well), and this is still effectively unplayable. The game loads and launches just fine. All menus are accessible and seems to work as expected... until you load in to the actual game world on planet. The framerate drops to single digits as soon as you start a mission and even turning the graphics way down, I can't get above 20 FPS without the game looking absolutely awful. It's a shame, because the game is actually a pretty good survival game, but it just is not playable on Linux.
The EA stuff at first boot glitched a few times. Finally got the game to boot up and run. Any time I tried to change any grpahic settings, the game would freeze. When I was able to actually start playing, it began to get very stuttery and slow after a few minutes (particularly around cut scenes) and wasn't really playable. Other times it would freeze up when loading in to my saved game. Can't currently recommend it as it's just unstable right now. Hopefully some issues will be ironed out.
Game runs perfectly. Had no issues with online multiplayer, no graphical issues, no unexpected stuttering, etc. Seemless experience.
No longer works after "Tame and Train" update
Used to work with no issues. After the "Tame and Train" major update in January, the main menu will launch, then freeze and crash every time you load in to the game itself.
Game ran seemlessly. Using GE, but had no issues with the game at all. Ran great right out of the box.
Minor stuttering. Found that disabling VSync resolved the issue.
Had no major issues. Game does take a bit on first launch to sort itself out to update the launcher/updater itself, but subsequent launches had no issues. Plays as well as it did on Windows with disabling VSync as the only tweak needed.
