Works ok if you don't mind slow autosave, slowness during endgame and occasional crashes
Towards the end game the highest time acceleration feels like 1x speed right after beginning - no FPS drops though Autosave takes ages, but as long as the background soundtrack keeps playing everything is fine
Now and then the game freezes as usual on autosave, but the background soundtrack stops. Then you can find errors about the SGDT instructions being used in your kmesg...

Runs great

Reflections have to be set to Low or None otherwise the game crashes.
Game didn't started using steam/proton default settings. Had to change Proton version an in-game settings.

Works fine

Reflections set to low, otherwise game crashes
With fullscreen, I was unable to control game after interacting with other windows

Mouse innacurate in fullscreen mode. Works when windowed.
Seems to become unstable after a while

In Video settings, set Reflections to Low or None, otherwise the game will crash.

Works out of the box after adjusting video settings
UI hitboxes are sometimes offset when in fullscreen. This can be solved by switching the game to windowed mode and back to fullscreen again.

While you can enjoy this game on Linux, you have to be willing to tinker quite a lot if unlucky.

On some systems, including mine, the game may crash again and again and you'll find a message about an audio task problem in the game's crash log. It happens mostly during battle scenes with a lot of sound effects, but may happen in silent scenes as well, just not as often.
If you are experiencing this problem, check your system for the audio system used. Is it Pulseaudio? It seems to have many bugs. Try replacing it with Pipewire. Pipewire can act as a 100% compatible Pulseaudio drop-in replacement. You can find instructions online asking your search engine of choice. In short: Aside from installing Pipewire, you must disable Pulseaudio auto-startup (systemd) and instead enable Pipewire. They can't run both at the same time. Reboot.
For me, replacing Pulseaudio with Pipewire completely solved this issue. Pipewire is included in recent Linux Mint releases, but not used by default.
Sometimes, during the loading screen, the not-really-full-fullscreen gets pushed up a bit off-center. Otherwise, there are very similar black bars below and above the almost-fullscreen game image.
There is an offset when selecting anything with the mouse. Point your mouse cursor slightly below the item you want. Irritating, but otherwise harmless.
Performance is lower than on comparable Windows system. Reduce graphics settings to compensate. Interestingly, this doesn't seam to hurt the game graphics too much, still looks good. However, I know this game for sometimes having unexplainable performance issues on Windows as well. If it gets too bad after playing for a while (hours), save, exit and re-start. It helps for a while.
The game is very unstable if you are playing with reflections higher than "low" in in-game graphics options. "Low" and "off" however work fine.
The game might still occasionally freeze after playing for a while without any error message or chance of recovery. I'd advice to keep a terminal window open so you can do a "killall -9 StrandedSteam.exe" and then re-start with the latest autosave. Keep it on with short intervals!
Thanks to Denuvo DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), do not change the Proton version multiple times per day. Every time you do, Denuvo thinks this is a new installation. Otherwise, you may find yourself locked out for 24 hours. This really s*cks!
I don't know what Frontier Development was thinking when beginning to implement Denuvo into their single-player games. Steam is already providing DRM internally. Also, the development studio, Haemimont, is experienced in creating Linux-native game versions (see: Surviving Mars, originally from Haemimont). So why would Frontier ask them for "Windows only"? So much unneccessary trouble.
No he conseguido jugar, la ventana no se ubica correctamente a pantalla completa

Had to change some pipewire configs to get it to stop crackling
Buttons hitboxes are offset from their location on screen in fullscreen
After a few hours of play time, the game will randomly crash during autosaves
I had no issues with performance or graphics, and I just play in windowed mode to avoid the UI issues in fullscreen. Aside from the frustrating autosave crashes, which may well be an issue on Windows as well, this is a fully playable experience on Linux.
Plays really well with default layout. Graphics are set to "Steam Deck" profile by default, it's well--optimized

With default template , y,b,x don't work, camera controls half work
Cloud save issues
I don't think we can call it verified , last reports on this site are over 7 months old. Not with DLC versions

In Video settings, set Reflections to Low or None, otherwise the game will crash.

This game requires some tweaking of the in game graphics settings or it straight up crashes if you leave the main menu.
The mouse cursor is using the wrong position in fullscreen sometimes.
Rendering Distance impacts performance the most. Leave it at low or medium and crank up the rest of the settings.
The game will crash every time you load into the game but only if you have reflexions on any setting higher than low. Leave reflexions on low and you will have a good experience.

Game shows main menu but crashes on start of the tutorial
Tried multiple older Steam versions and multiple GE versions to no avail

No issues after a few hours with GE-Proton7-3. Game crashed after main menu on new versions.

En el Menú Opciones> VÃdeo> Reflejos Hay que marcar BAJO o NO, si no no abre las partidas. Todo lo demás da igual puede estar en Ultra pero los reflejos hay que poner eso o no abre.
Started in a window, despite set to fullscreen, but as soon as I clicked, fullscreen resumed as normal, was fine after that initial oddity.
Initally opened in a small window (about 25% of my screen), despite being set to native res (3440 x 1440), clicking on 2nd monitor (dual monitor setup) and game opened full screen! Worked fine after that point.
Minor issue in Options menu, whene under Display, the Graphics Adapter name wraps over two lines, and crops, but only sometimes. But this is minor and can be ignored. Everything else worked okay.
Note: This was with the new Sow and Sell update. i.e. The new scenario just released 3 days ago. (as of time of posting).

Alt tab sometimes doesn't work properly.
I have to alt tab quickly around 3/4 times until I can get my OS cursor back.
Only version that worked for me was GE-Proton7-6. Tried several others, but the game would crash after loading a new game or the tutorial.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
The new update works with GE-Proton7-6.
Before that I tried GE-Proton7-51, GE-Proton7-30, Proton Experimental and Proton 7.0-6 to no avail
No longer works after "Tame and Train" update
Used to work with no issues. After the "Tame and Train" major update in January, the main menu will launch, then freeze and crash every time you load in to the game itself.

Mouse offset while in fullscreen. Turn to windowed then back to fullscreen to remove offset.
Was using Proton Experimental but the game would not start after Tame and Train update. It starts fine with Proton Next (7.0-6).
work around the full screen not taking up the whole screen by alt-tab
After the Tame and Train update the game no longer loads with standard Proton. I had to use glorious eggroll proton 7.3 installed through ProtonUp-Qt to get the game running.
After the Tame and Train update the game no longer loads. Main menu shows up.
The game still plays on the Steam Deck so there is hope that there will be a fix for general Linux distros in the future.
Tame and Train killed it. It was running great, then after the update can't play at all. Can't load or start a game.
Tried experimental and current proton. No good.
The Tame and Train Update broke it

Was working before it, now is not x.x

If you like Rimworld, but your imagination is sleepy, let this game do more of the heavy lifting.
On a 1440p ultrawide with Fullscreen, mouse pointer is inaccurate. Switch to WIndowed and use your Window Manager to fullscreen it.
Didn't work with the Valve-shipped version of Proton. I got into menus, but crashed while loading the tutorial.
Mouse pointer needs to be slightly to the bottom right to select things.
Would not run with regular Proton. You could see the menu and try to start a game, then it stops.
Game starts, attempts to load, map never appears. Changing proton versions more than 2 times will lock you out of the game due to Denuvo.
Contacted support on discord and posted on steam community forum. No response yet. I cannot even launch the game now, just get a popup saying visit this page, which is Denuvo stating "You can no longer authenticate on new devices Currently your game purchase cannot be re-validated successfully, please wait 24 hours and try again."
I'm quite upset. Do not attempt to tinker if it does not work the first time.
plays well on linux, annoying input offset bug, but livable
Not sure if its a wine problem or the game, but there are multiple occurnces of the cursor neeing to be slightly somewhere else (usually below) a control element this often can be seen with highlighting the game does so its not too bad, except check-boxes those are just a guess
Without switching to Experimental, it locked up when starting the first tutorial mission. After switching, everything went smoothly.
