Updated Settings.coc
Most important for my graphics card situation was turning off volumetric settings. Look at CloudsQualitySettings and VolumetricsQualitySettings in the following settings example if you get Hardware not supported for Volumetric Materials.

I would recommend sticking to Cities: Skylines 1 if you do not have at least a Nvidia 40 series graphics card with over 8 GB of VRAM or AMD equivalent. VRAM is the biggest bottleneck for this particular game.
Simple model train builder. Full sandbox which can be addicting if you just need a brainless activity.
After the Tame and Train update the game no longer loads. Main menu shows up.
The game still plays on the Steam Deck so there is hope that there will be a fix for general Linux distros in the future.
work around the full screen not taking up the whole screen by alt-tab
After the Tame and Train update the game no longer loads with standard Proton. I had to use glorious eggroll proton 7.3 installed through ProtonUp-Qt to get the game running.
