Crashes when Vulkan is selected after the last few patches, DX11 works fine
Make sure to use DX11 at the game launcher for the time being
Was able to get to launcher, would not start beyond that. Gave error. Tried using fix stated in earlier reviews, but unable.
Crashed the first launch, worked well after.
Small stutters, slight input lag. Definitely playable
Crashed the first time I tried to launch, gave a D3D11 viewport error
gamescope -W 5120 -H 1440 -r 240 -o 240 --force-grab-cursor -f --hdr-enabled -- %command%
I use gamescope to use HDR on my system, game works without it. Online mode was recently fixed, which was the only portion broken for linux since launch. Hopefully the devs let us keep playing online now that they've opened the gates.
When it goes to launch nothing appears and the process eventually stops.
Works okay, would be nice to have the videos
None of the video based cutscenes play
Using this custom proton build allows video cutscenes to play, and the game loads much faster.
Glorious Eggroll's Proton-6.18-GE-2
I followed Takei Naodar and Lain@X's reports, where proton version needs to be set to 4.11 or earlier, and dotnet 472 needs to be installed in the prefix using protontricks. Once it's installed and the game has been opened once, newer versions seem to work generally fine. I ocassionally get an error when I open the game saying that dotnet couldn't start, but it works anyways. --no-background-wineserver was not recognized by my protontricks instance, but my install worked fine just by using protontricks 1531540 dotnet472 Proton 4.11 could not get through the three installs that steam automatically does on first launch, so I needed to use 4.2 to install the different dotnet version.
Game is dim in general, making some things difficult to see (small gray objects in black space). Text is sometimes cutoff at the edge of menus, though windows users have reported issues with text scaling on high resolutions, and I'm using a 5120x1440 display.
If these fixes are not applied, game does not get past the launcher.
Works well enough
Voices often fall out of sync or stop/start playing at the wrong times, usually during cutscenes
Stuttering when entering new areas despite on M.2 drive

Alt-tabbing could case fps to drop, forcing a game reload.
Full resolution textures cause the FPS to be a consistent 8. Half resolution jumps to a consistent 25. No other graphics settings make a significant change, leading me to believe this is an optimization issue. Setting CPU culling to max helped it get closer to 28, but was inconsistent.
Changing texture resolution can lead the game to freeze
Game performance issues lead to lag, which makes it difficult to survive in this game.
Game feels very close to working but has significant performance issues.

After FPS drop from exiting cutscene, opening menus will repeat their sounds repeatedly so quickly that it makes constant menu sounds until the game is closed.
After a cutscene there is a chance the FPS will drop to less than 10.
Can crash while riding bike, sometimes after exiting cutscene the frame drop will eventually end in a crash
Tried using proton 8.0-2 and 7.0-6, along with Proton-GE, issues persisted. February update got it to this state, it was much worse before. I can play for some time but cutscenes can crash/ruin game performance.
At turn 283 the game got stuck and wouldn't let me end my turn. When I reloaded from an autosave 2 turns earlier it was okay and I was able to continue. Seems to have happened to some on windows as well, or similar bugs.
Currently does the same as Days Gone, game process starts and eventually stops and see nothing on screen
Crashed with regular proton, videos wouldn't play and would lead to a crash on occasion. Works for most part with base proton
Use proton ge if cinematics don't work or if you get black screens
Crashes as soon as settings menu appears
gamescope is only needed for HDR. Works perfectly fine as long as you use proton bleeding edge.
gamescope -W 5120 -H 1440 -r 240 -o 240 --force-grab-cursor -e -f --hdr-enabled -- %command%
Crashes on regular proton every once in a while.
Game under some proton versions has a wine window that appears with a loading bar before crash, others crash after first screen
Does not open when I click launch, does start a pinball process that runs in the background that sometimes will not stop without a restart.
Went from not working at all to working almost perfectly in the last few updates to proton.
When performing animations for the first time on some boards, there is stuttering, but then is smooth for the rest of the game.
I used protontricks quartz to try to get music working, by default playing music would either crash the game or do nothing. With quartz it didn't crash but the music sounded crunchy/corrupted.
Music only
Enabling fullscreen made one of my other monitors go half black.
Crashed frequently without quartz
Had to use fixes previously stated here, replace winhttp.dll and use protontricks to set version to win7 if you can't get past the xbox live login screen.
A message appears stating Proton, Wine, and Steam Deck are officially not supported.
This appears to be to prevent cheating somehow.
Get an easy anti cheat error when trying to join a game or matchmake.
Game launches fine but is hindered by EAC
Only a few hiccups as I was playing within an hour of launch
Works great
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 gamemoderun %command%
Artifacts on backgrounds or limbs of characters glitched/spastic
Drops to under 20FPS in matches, not always but often
Performance issues in matches make multiplayer usually unplayable
Steam overlay no worky but otherwise good for a classic game
gamescope -W 5120 -H 1440 -r 240 -o 240 --force-grab-cursor -f --hdr-enabled -- %command%
Occasional stuttering caused by shader caching/generation in new areas during missions with large amounts of enemies
The command options I use are just to enable HDR through gamescope and force my resolution (it's an odd res so gamescope is sometimes weird about it) not needed for non-HDR 16:9 displays.
Get to the EA launcher, but unable to signin. Error states unable to link an account and to restart the launcher.
Deleted Compatdata for the game as previous users' suggested.
EA Launcher has broken this game. Tried Proton Experimental as well. EA Launcher does not allow me to signin, giving a generic error and says to restart.
Ran great out of the box, was even able to use steam remote play features with no issues with both PCs running Linux.
Slowdowns, lower graphics quality, and some input glitches, but for the most part playable for a goofy game.
Seemed much lower texture resolution than on windows
Lower fps than expected given I'm running this on a 3080 and a 3900x, along with longer than expected load times
Alt tabbing sometimes breaks fullscreen
Cutscene videos would sometimes play the wrong audio, or have no audio at all. Same behavior on latest proton GE at time of writing as well.
If you catch a turtle while fishing as Haruka the game crashes
The game works well enough, but the wrong audio playing can be distracting. Subtitles make it workable though to get the story, I don't speak japanese so the audio isn't the absolute most important thing to me at least. Many cutscenes do work, it's a mixed bag.
