Game could not detect middle mouse button while in full-screen
Tried everything after the game wouldn't launch in steam, Wine, Lutris, other graphics drivers, the works. It fixed itself after I did a fresh install with the launch options. If you're having trouble with a system that previously ran the game fine, try that.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Works out of box with some minor graphical bugs (the lighting seems to be interacting with the UI poorly occasionally and causing some red flashes), but after setting PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
in the launch options it runs perfectly

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
without the use of the launch option extreamly low fps straight at the menu level

Playing the game itself is fine, but tabbing out, switching workspaces or any other form of minimizing the game does not work well
Switching workspaces made cinnamon display windows weirdly layered and cut off unable to interact with any. Restarting cinnamon helps, but sometimes the game does not return the mouse leaving you unable to click anywhere. Restarting cinnamon, switching workspaces, going into tty and trying other mouse captures like xkill did nothing. The start menu was also not able to be focused to enter text
Will not return the mouse when the game has been in the background for too long and crashes

Unplayable fps without the launch options

could not rotate camera
Just works great out of the box

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Run launch option
Crashes on Startup with Proton Hotfix. Switch to Experimental in order to actually play, and play with launch option for more FPS

Without the env, the framerate is rediculously unplayable.

Runs perfectly on Waylad
Window/cursor bugs on x11. Runs perfectly on Waylad

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
without only 10-15 fps

Runs well out of the box.
No issues encountered.
Could not rotate the camera

During the game saving the screen goes black for a second or so
Game crashed maybe once an hour whenever I used a F-key
No audio at all.

When I opened the game or switched virtual desktop, it would stutter really badly but would go away after 30 seconds
One or two crashes, but probably mods
Mods are a little patchy, use r2modman

Set the game to windowed mode if you run into issues with middle mouse drag for camera movement, it works pretty well on my Hyprland setup.
Middle mouse button dragging not detected properly when in full screen mode, switching to windowed mode fixes it.
The game works pretty well out of the box, just not camera movement, windowed mode fixes it.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 gamemoderun %command%
Some minor flickering at the bottom of the screen while creating blueprints
Without PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 the fps was ~5-10
Installed an ran it without issues. Runs the same as in windows at least in early game.

Middle mouse click does not work
Middle mouse doesn't work, rebinding does not work either.
Dont delete your proton files with the game open or you can loose saves (not only in DSP).
MSAA is very demanding, is better to turn off.
The game is very depending on it, i can zoom in and out but could not rotate the camera, tried to rebind but seems that none of the lateral mouse buttons works and only mouse buttons can be used in this action. Tweeked with DE (hyprland and kde), proton fixes and launch options, at some point started the game with gamescope too, but the camera would not rotate.
gamemoderun %command%
Disable MSAA and performance was fine after
MSAA seems to consume a lot of resources in dxvk, turning it off improves FPS
Works exactly as expected, no difference from playing on windows.

Videos in the guide don't seem to work, they show a test card. This is fine to me though as the game is pretty self-explanatory.

10-15 fps

Launches but has severe performance issues (1-2fps)
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
This could just be because my GPU is a GTX1050 but the minimum requirements for the game are far lower, and I was able to run it just fine on windows using the same GPU
Game launches and plays with no problems.

In default gaming mode
Scroll mouse on d-pad up and down
Earlier reports suggested difficulties reading the text, and I didn't come across this anywhere. All legible
Everything working great - 78 hours on my save and no signs of problems.

Works well, but freezes after putting PC to sleep
Game froze after putting PC to sleep

Without launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D performance dipped to ~5-14 fps after the Dark Fog Update, previous to that date (Dec 2023) everything ran quite well.
Trying to open a tutorial video hangs the game

Default, proton experimental had significant performance issues (~5 fps), but using proton 7.0.6 fixed these issues (60 fps). This is the Dell XPS 7590 using prime render offload (Nvidia GTX 1650, driver version 545.29.06)
If you are having significant performance issues, try using proton 7.0.6
