For some reason it keeps switching back to mouse controls randomly until I move the mouse around to get it to hide the cursor. I've seen this happen to others, so it might not be a linux specific issue.

Can play the opening sequence, but the game crashes immediately when the main party starts talking. Happened in the same place 4 times in a row before I gave up tweaking different options.
Game launches just fine, and I could tweak settings. I was also able to view the first few cutscenes, along with play through the first combat sequence. But as soon as the game switches to the main party, the game crashes on the first piece of dialogue.

If you are using a tiling window manager, and the game doesn't launch fullscreen but you later fullscreen it, then the resolution has to be manually fixed in the settings. The game will not readjust based on your window size automatically.

Works fine without any tweaking. I did notice some weird looking particle effects, but that was fixed after lowering graphics settings back to "High".
I also needed to disable the trackpad on my PS5 controller, but that could be specific to my desktop environment. Before disabling it, it would take over and act like a mouse and I wouldn't be able to do any swipe commands in-game.
Early access slows computer to a crawl and never makes it past initial loading screen

Also had to run a command to kill the hanging process because Steam failed to close the game.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 6600 (RADV NAVI23)" %command%
Like others have mentioned, the game doesn't seem to use your GPU by default. It was causing my whole computer to softlock. After setting DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME
, I was able to boot just fine. For those who need it, you can find your device name with vulkaninfo
.

Game will crash entire desktop pretty frequently unless tweaked.
After adding an env var from another post, things seemed a bit more stable for me, and I've been able to play for hours at a time. There's still intermittent crashing, but less often now. I also had to lower all my graphics settings to Low to keep from crashing. When I tried to bump things up to Medium, my whole desktop crashed within a few minutes.
So overall it's okay (at best) if you don't mind things looking pretty bad with graphics turned all the way down.
Works great outside of some cursor issues between levels
Unable to use the mouse after each level until I drag it completely out of the game and back in. I was able to use "Space" to continue and "F" to restart though.
Demo does not work with Proton
"The program encountered E111000B at 00001883 during initialization. Wine, Proton, and Steam Deck are not supported by this application!"
Broken with most recent update

Starting up took like 5 minutes, then couldn't get past the start menu (CyanBeard error).

Tree textures have been blinking in and out with a recent update.
Game runs great on Linux without any additional steps. Some slight stuttering whenever a new turn begins, but that isn't limited to Linux.

Works great, but mods don't work. Game soft locks when trying to render a character with mods enabled.

Installed mod to tweak UE config for performance enhancements
First launched in Sway and it wasn't capturing my mouse at all until I setup gamescope. And then it still wouldn't actually lock my mouse to the window. After switching to i3 I was able to get it to grab the mouse more consistently, but it was still a pain so I switched to playing with controller.
Stuttering and lower than expected FPS in open world, but installing some performance mods helped in that regard.
It should work fine without any tinkering if you plan on playing with controller. But if you want to play with kbm, then you might need to setup gamescope (and probably run via X11).
