Fullscreen prevents game from functioning; alt-tab will kill the game from fullscreen. Launching the game in fullscreen will cause the game to fail to load.
Had to tweak the user_settings.config
fullscreen = false
maximized_window = true
to fix the issue.
The config is located in AppData. On Arch its ( ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/553850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2/user_settings.config)
High framerates prevents game from launching and I believe caused most of my in-game crashes. Had to cap it way lower ~90 fps and its much more stable.
Quickplay almost always fails (Unsure if proton or server issue). Disconnections happen somewhat frequently.
Game works, but its a "hell" of a time getting into a game, through the connection errors, and out of a match without the game getting blown to shreds.
Game only runs with Proton Experimental, otherwise throws errors or cannot find C++ runtime files.
Wine, Proton, Steam Deck are not supported...
No Proton support in 2024? What an L.
unset SDL_VIDEODRIVER; gamemoderun %command%
No issues with in-game sounds or VOIP. However, my audio input devices don't show up in the settings. (Still worked)
Connection seemed flawless, I did not notice anything unusal for a match of Squad.
After installing the patched 'glibc-eac' from the AUR this game worked without a hitch. Seems very stable and smooth to play.(outside the common issues known to squad)
I had to install the 'glibc-eac' from the AUR with the --nocheck flag in order to properly compile. Otherwise, it gets to the end and fails out. (Install for this package is unfortunately lengthy)
Otherwise, no real issues with the game itself. Very impressed with the performance otherwise.
gamemoderun %command% -dx11
Audio devices do not populate in settings. Game seems to use whatever in/out devices I have selected in the Plasma desktop audio settings.
Absolutely flawless - Just like in 2001. (Im sure I'm not exaggerating)
The people love you my lord.
gamemoderun WINEDLLOVERRIDES="amd_ags_x64.dll=b" %command%
Crashed a few times when switching to another desktop workspace.
Capping @ 60fps with the aforementioned flags seems to prevent random crashing. I'm running on Ultra/High settings without issue now.
