Reduce TDP to 6W
Shows the keyboard prompts rather than gamepad prompts, but otherwise works great so far.
Cutscenes don't play with the current Steam defaults but it works fine with GE-Proton 7-17
Played from start to finish with no problems
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
Didn't load at all out of the box, but ran with no problems after using PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
Controller isn't detected unless you switch to experimental, but it works with trackpad mouse in normal launch settings. Otherwise runs fine.
Turned all the power saving settings on, TDP 4W
Tried changing various things but in the end I left all the in game graphics options on default/medium, deck settings: framerate limit at 60, half rate shading and tdp limit off, which gives good performance but only around 2 hours of battery life
Controllers don't work under any version of proton I tried (including GE and experimental), but I managed to tweak the controller layout to make it playable fairly comfortably.
My 8bitdo controller wouldn't work properly - you could move but not open the menu
PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
No performance change even with TDP turned down to 3W which gives around 6 hours of battery time
Ran fine out of the box for months then started constantly crashing, switching to 7.06 fixed this
I played the whole of lost judgment with no tinkering and no problems, then shortly after starting kaito files at the end of July I started to get constant crashes, but switching to 7.06 has fixed this.
Left joystick for mouse with A as lmb
TDP 6
Icons are very small
Changed buttons to match the in-game controls
Occasionally putting items into the bag shows a white square instead of the item picture but it doesn't impact gameplay. Using items was sometimes a bit finicky and took a couple of goes to make it work.
Changed to left joystick for mouse with A for lmb
TDP 6
Mouse only but easy to play with joystick
TDP 10W
No issues 9 hours in except that you have to touch the touchscreen to get the cursor in the box to type
Background audio is missing, including narration voiceover. Acted lines are fine, but wherever there is missing narration, the subtitles also skip which make it really difficult to keep track of what's going on. Fine if you're just replaying for achievements and don't care so much about the story but not playable otherwise.
30FPS cap, 4W power
Having to bring up the steam keyboard every time makes using the in-game notepad a pain, old fashioned pen and paper is the way to go
Some text didn't display properly
Worked with GE-Proton7-17, no extra steps.
Used the trackpad as mouse just to navigate the launch windows and then changed settings to controller in the main menu. Some inputs felt a little laggy but otherwise it runs just fine.
Runs out of the box with just one major issue which is fixed by switching to an older version
On the current version of steamos it runs fine, but crashed if left on pause for longer than a minute or so. Switching to 7.0-6 fixed this.
Audio occasionally became slightly unsynced but not so much that it was a major problem and it generally self corrected.
Minor artifacts in opening cutscene only
Ran perfectly from start to finish with only one crash and no audio issues. Mostly played it docked as otherwise it barely got 2 hours battery time.
