Works flawlessly natively to play solo or with Steam friends. Proton 7 required for Cross Play branch.
My 8BitDo controller was recognized both natively and with Proton.
Use the native version if you're playing on your own or with friends on Steam.
If you want to enable cross play to play with friends on Epic games you need to enable the Cross Play beta (right click on the game > properties > betas > cross play > wait for it to download) and I had to use Proton 7 specifically.
Friendly reminder that saves are not shared across the native and Proton version.

Native doesn't detect controllers
As is often the case, running through proton works flawlessly while the default Linux version has issues.
Coin sprites cover screen and dont correct until a new order is served. Happens every 4ish games
Works out of the box. No issues.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Controller didn't work on native version. Enabling Steam Input caused the game to crash.

Works perfectly especially in public multiplayer
Keyboard works weird in couch mode

PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Won't launch without tinker steps on bazzite (fedora41)

Played with PS5 DualSense controller in local coop with no changes to the default controller layout.

only crossplay beta requires Proton 8.0-5. regular steam multiplayer works normally without any tinkering.
no issues, works flawlessly

I had issues with the crossplay beta on Steam and returned the game. The GOG version I have now (which is crossplay by default) ran smoothly via Heroic-Proton Experimental. I'm playing with friends who have Steam and Epic.
Runs perfectly on Linux. I played local co-op with 2 different controllers and they both worked perfectly in game and there were no bugs

Cross-play did not work on Linux in the native version and with Proton the game did not open
I tested the native cross-play version (beta) with friends (who used Windows-Epic/Steam) and I was unable to join their session or invite them. This beta version also had bugs in the menu, such as navigation issues. The beta version for Windows did not open with Proton Experimental and Proton 9. I did not test proton-tkg as previously indicated here. We requested a refund.
No tinkering. Enjoy

To play Multiplayer with the Crossplay branch, you must switch to the Proton version and run it via Proton TKG. The native version gives me an error upon clicking invite.
Play Native unless you want crossplay multiplayer with the beta.
Proton TKG version: 9.0.110886.20240806 (installed via ProtonUp)

I had no issues running the game on Steam Deck.
Simple, but sometimes nerve-breaking with friends. Overal great game with native Linux support.
Native, runs perfectly

Steam UI didnt show up in fullscreen
Saves aren't transferred between Proton and native version, but can be done so manually.

Perhaps getting through steam would be better, launching through Lutris > Epic Games is kinda hasile for a normal user
getting it through steam, then launching as native should be fine

The main version is fine. Thoughthe EGS crossplay version (set Beta to Crossplay) is constantly crashing for unknown reason.

Sometimes it can take a bit for the game to detect the controller, but that's how this game works unfortunately

gamemoderun %command% MANGOHUD=0 %command%
Yo uso el Dualsense, mi hermano un mando de Xbox Generico licenciado por Microsoft. Todo perfecto.
Llevo bastantes horas jugando de forma nativa sin modificar nada y me va perfecto.
Dualsense controller + steam input not working

In native mode, corresplay with players on windows resulted in major bugs and long load times. With Proton Experimental everything workes great
In native mode, corresplay with players on windows resulted in major bugs and long load times. Corssplay with linux players is fine. With Proton Experimental everything (even crossplay to windows) works great
Works perfectly out of the box
Native works without issues.

Changed from native to Proton GE
Once the game is opened, everything else starts crackling except the game on PipeWire
PipeWire needs to be restarted for the game to work. systemctl --user restart pipewire.socket
Game constantly drops its audio device with pipewire, constantly crashes in menu or in pre-game lobby.

Launch with experimental in order to have Steam Cloud enabled.
Runs like native, just be careful with Steam Cloud, I needed to force experimental in order to make it work.

i've got this game for free on epic a while ago and it was worth the shot, 0 issues including online multiplayer
No tinkering needed, game works out of the box without problems.
Game wouldn't start using native. Only forced Proton worked
