Installed the mod megapack (original music, product placements and adjustments to gameplay). Once extracted into the game's directory (home>steam>steamapps>common>Crazy Taxi) use the launch command above. Works like a charm.
TDP to 6
Although listed as playable, the game won't work with any newer proton version. It will either crash upon loading or on the character screen selection. Set it to the one mentioned above and then it works like a charm. It is completely compatible with the mod overhaul megapack which comes close to the original dreamcast experience (see above as well). Can easily be found with a single google search. The game has a separate config screen which can only be navigated using the touchscreen. Once everything is set, you can ignore it. The game offers a 90hz option but won't go above 60fps regardless. If you use a dock, you can bump the resolution above 800p to your preference, but to access it you need to force the game to launch at a higher resolution through SteamOS, then change it manually in the config launcher. The game is very light and will perform well regardless of its resolution. You can change the TDP and the GPU clocks depending on your target resolution. I set a TDP of 6 while running the game at 1080p, works like a charm.

El juego funciona bien, pero solo después de bajar a Proton 8. Con versiones posteriores a la 8.0-5 se queda pillado en la selección de personaje y al arrancar de nuevo el juego directamente no carga.
El mapeo de controles oficial es horroroso, pero se arregla fácilmente con alguno de la comunidad.
Por lo demás el juego funciona bastante bien, pudiendo reducir el consumo sin problema alguno.

Without tweaking anything or changing Proton version, the game seems to crash at character select and trying to start it again will just result in a frozen loading bar before even the start screen.
Using the R thumbstick to change gears (mapped on A & B keys) so it's easier to do drifts and limiter cuts, arcade style.
Using PowerTools (Decky plugin) I use 4 Threads at 2Ghz, solid 60fps under 0.8w cpu

Perfect using Proton 7.0-4 flatpak community build.
The game does not detect analog input. So when using the joystick to steer, you are either going straight or full turning left/right. The SilentPatch mod allows for better steering and control of your taxi.
This game runs perfectly on the Steam Deck. You can opt to play at 960x600 with FSR enabled if you wish to improve battery life. As mentioned earlier, I highly recommend the SilentPatch to improve controls. While it is not necessary, there are also mods to restore the music and locations of the original DreamCast version of the game. There is a Steam guide that includes all these mods in one package.
Aside from graphics options only available in a (skippable) launcher, the game runs perfectly.
Does not even launch with the current steam proton default (7.0-2) or forced experimental.
Since it worked before, maybe it will someday work again?
AMD Video Card crashed on startup, couldn't start playing; NVIDIA card works otherwise

D9VK works but is really slow for some reason, like 15-20 FPS. WineD3D gives a solid 60 FPS.

Make sure to delete the old files. The replacement files have the wrong capitalization, so unless your filesystem is case-insensitive, you might end up with both files at the same time and maybe break things.

Runs great ootb with Proton 5.13-4.
RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command% recommended, but not mandatory. Tested on Intel HD 530 / 630 and AMD RX 560 OC.
Runs great on Proton 5.13, just make sure to get the original audio files for the definitive experience.
Not an issue related to Proton, but follow this guide to get the original music, voices and sounds, it's a vast improvement over the Steam version's.
İ had fps problem on windows but thanks to Linux I don't have now.
Without D9VK the game crashes during loading screens.
Game crash on config menu
The Direct3D device has a non-zero reference count, meaning some objects were not released.
Depending on version, will not initialize anything 3D or not start at all
Proton 4.11-9 : Refuses to show the start screen, loads briefly and then crashes. Proton 4.2-9 & 3.16-9 : Shows the main menu, but when attempting to load 3D assets such as in the driver select menu, it will crash.
Works great with DXVK and D9VK
Just like in Windows, if your controller disconnects for whatever reason, the game will lock up and need to be forced closed.
