Completed without issues
EA launcher causes problems as usual. No controller prompts although controller works perfectly. No steam overlay. Nothing proton related though.

Running on KDE plasma 6 desktop, steam installed via flatpak. Need to login with X11 session, using the default Wayland session makes the game not launch (prob. because EA launcher).
Even when using full gamepad after alt+tab the mouse cursor became stuck to the middle of the screen, it did not disappeared. Needed to restart the game to make it go away.

the game sometimes doesn't really wanna start up. I tested some things and eventually the game will start up again. the steps include switching to proton 7.0-6 and back to whatever is recommended, and verifying integrity of files. I guess it might be the ea launcher making problems here. the performance is great, if it runs, it runs as good as on windows for me.

Attempting to launch game with default proton or Proton 8 crashed. Only launching with Proton 7 allowed the EA launcher to be installed to launch the game.

If the EA launcher doesn't break, this game will perform almost perfectly
It's rare, but I had the mouse fail to lock in the window properly even after tabing in and out. Restarting the game fixes this

Set the refresh rate to 45Hz and used the game's own v-sync to limit frames to 45fps.
With Proton Experimental I never had any problems. Game takes a bit longer to start and the EA App window is completely blank and grey, but the game itself ran fine.
For me the game ran with stable 45FPS and no audio problems or crashes. Enabled the FPS counter in various worlds and it hast just been stable. Just be sure to use Proton Experimental from the beginning when first starting the game after installing it.
When EA Play is getting installed on first launch, don't close it. When launching the game, wait for the blank screens to pass. Sometime the launcher closes without opening the game, try again until the game opens (but wait for the blank screens to pass in any cases)
You may need to have your Steam account linked with your EA.com account to be able to launch the game without too much issue.

The game does not quit completely, you have to go through Steam to force it to stop.

The EA App makes this difficult to launch because it pops up two empty screens. Before attempting to run the game, be sure your Steam ID is associated with your account on EA.com. You must have a network connection each time you launch the game or you could end up in an unlaunchable state (if this occurs, delete proton files from Developer settings to start from scratch).
For first run, click the button to run the EA app installer. Wait for up to two blank screens, and if the game doesn't load, exit and re-enter. If your Steam ID has been associated with your EA account, it should launch after that first time (and possibly the first time).
Subsequent runs should be fine provided you have an Internet connection when you launch the game. You should see two blank screens that auto-dismiss after several seconds before the actual game launches.
If the game ever ends up in an unlaunchable state, use the game's Developer settings to delete Proton files.
Audio sometimes will crackle for some time after waking the Steam Deck if it was put to sleep without pausing first. Usually the problem will self-correct.
I've replayed the end of Threedom several times now (even with the boss fight after), and on multple reloads, I end up back at the same spot having lost game progress.

Starting the game is not possible since the move from Origin to the EA App.
Tried some protontrocks to add support for the EA app, but failed due to Temporary Connection Error all the time.
Runs perfectly OOTB.
Perfect stable 60 FPS on deck. Desktop mode got me about 50 but still very enjoyable. Beautiful game for the deck
Gyro got wonky with a community layout, changed it to Gyro faking joystick input. Still a bit off against mouse but very playable
The game ran perfectly
The game runs surprisingly well, considering that it uses Origin. So far the performance has been perfect.
At the beginning of dream sequences the controller and the mouse stop working, but the alt+tabbing fixes it, so maybe the focus of the window is changing.
Proton 6.16-GE-1
But NOT on Proton 6.18-GE-2. Looks like something is wrong with Origin installer on 6.18-GE-2.
Works with some magic
The game crashed thrice before successfully launching for the first time after which it presumably stabilized and runs consistently. Probably has something to do with game requiring Origin to play.
P.S. Only works in native Proton, couldn't run it with GE.
