Using Proton 5 (or higher), the sound will be crackling, to resolve, choose:
- Use Proton 4 (or less) without any commands;
- Use Proton 5 (or higher) with "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%".
Textures flickering at the entrances and exits of the chapters, but it doesn't interfere with the experience.
Works fine after installing PhysX. Open the terminal and execute the command below:
WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/21680/pfx/ winetricks physx

Xbox 360 Controller works perfectly.
Extremely slow. It takes 15 minutes to start one of the games.
Running at 7 FPS, impossible to play.
The game starts with proton 5.13-6 or experimental.
I tried it with Steam's Proton Experimental, the game opens and closes while loading, so have a preference for a Proton GE 7-20 or newer, this will make it Platinum.
For those using openSUSE Leap 15.4, the 32-bit NVIDIA driver libs were split from the main driver package, so "maybe" it would be nice to install these 32-bit libs to ensure the game works properly...

Excellent performance on my hardware. Tested with Logitech F310 and Xbox 360 Controller.
After updating (EAC), don't search for players.
They introduced Easy Anti-Cheat (purchased by Epic Games), and now you can't find players, so there's no way to play.
I tried with "proton 5.0-9" and also "Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST", both have the same result.
When trying to search for players, message: "Anti-cheat error: Anti-cheat is not initialized".
I will follow this ProtonDB, I am hoping that someone will find an alternative solution.
It works without tricks in my notebook, however, the game opens in a 800x600 window, being possible to maximize, but I couldn't apply a fullscreen mode. The game is stuttering. Xbox 360 controller works.
Everything working perfectly, with maximum graphics quality, it seems native. Xbox 360 controller working.
Since 2018 it didn't work, but with Proton 5.0-3 the game works now. Proton 5.0-3 uses DXVK 1.5.4-3 by default ;)

No Proton command was needed, everything worked perfectly in the first 30 minutes. Xbox 360 Controller working perfectly.
If you play with a controller, it's Platinum.
The keyboard didn't work for me, only the ESC key works to exit.
The first time I opened the game, it didn't work, and an error message appeared.
The second time, the game started black screen.
The third time it worked, and now it always works.
My monitor is 2560x1080, but the way was to play 1920x1080.
I finished the game in almost 2 hours, for me it was Platinum playing with Xbox 360 Controller.
There is only one detail, no matter how I close the game, it's still running, it's necessary to finish in the library.

If you are stuck in loading screen, disable on-demand/dynamic download in the launcher, and restart the launcher.
I don't know how to answer, since apparently I'm the only one who has reported problems with freezing. When it doesn't freeze it's 60 FPS.
Sometimes my Linux freezes completely after loading the save, this happens either in Fullscreen and Window Mode. (*Forced restart of OS required)

The game freezes during loading and rarely during gameplay, but it's possible complete it, read my details and see my screenshot.
The game saves, but for some reason the game didn't save, and I had to load a save from 2 hours ago.
If you play in fullscreen, the game may freeze completely on loading and the operating system too. If it does, try windowed mode. In windowed mode, loading may freeze, but wait for a while, and don't press anything, otherwise the system freezes. The game may freeze during gameplay, I can only force the operating system to restart :(

Before patch 2.0, the game worked, but when the update was released, I chose to uninstall and reinstall the game (clean install), the game starts, but no matter what I do, if I load a "save" or start a "new game", the game breaks on the loading screen. Already tried all the proton commands, the problem remains the same. Proton 4.11-2 also occurs the same problem.

I finished with keyboard and mouse. I tested Xbox 360 Controller, the game recognizes it, but it doesn't seem to be mapped. If you want to use a Controller, read other reports.
Sometimes, changing the resolution closes the game. It's interesting to choose a resolution and not keep changing (Press D on the resolution to make it default).
Months ago, it was just install and play, but today, for some reason, the error "Failed to find Steam" appeared.
To resolve this:
Go to /steamapps/compatdata/2310/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/, copy "Steam.dll", and paste inside /steamapps/common/Quake/

I had a problem with a huge shadow following me, this was fixed with the command PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Finished using Proton and Xbox 360 Controller, everything works. This game is Unity engine, so if there is problem with performance, try turning off shadows and water effects (it also works for native version).
The game works great, if you turn off shadows and water effects. Sometimes, when pausing the game, the cursor disappears, but this isn't a problem, just use the keyboard in the menu.
This game worked on openSUSE as Platinum, but it doesn't work on Solus.
Game only provides a black screen. I've tried everything suggested below, but nothing works.
It seems there is a rule for this game to work.
- Choose Proton 5.0-10 for Toki;
- https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install
- WINEPREFIX="/home/$USER/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1058320/pfx" ./mf-install.sh
After doing this, don't change Toki's Proton version, or it will just show a black screen, and you'll need to put in Proton 5.0-10 and run wineprefix again.
It looks playable.
When applying "Window Mode", the game crashes. I can only play in fullscreen.
How to install the game and run with Proton: After "installing" the empty directory, go to "Properties" and check the "force the use of a steamplay compatibility tool". Select any of the options you want that isn't the Linux Runtime option, and it wll trigger an option to update which will download the Windows version properly.
For me, it works better than native.
Native version the cursor escapes from the window, and low performance with high graphics. Proton solved cursor, and performance is better.
