I was using a fresh install and had forgotten to install the correct driver package, the game is perfectly playable through proton.

Only issues fixed by disabling fullscreen

Very minor flickering, that may or may not be caused by the game, disabling 2x resoloution removed this

The game flickers when fullscreen on kde, playing windowed fixed this
The game works perfectly, with no bugs or issues in the gameplay, and no crashes. The only issues are with fullscreen.
