Works flawlessly. Praise the Lamb!
Works flawlessly with no issues out of the box. Like playing it more on PC than on steam deck in late game with lots of villagers but it works fine on both. As it is a good game, you can even choose playstation button prompts even on the steam deck.
I did a lot of tweaking to try and get the graphics right but I got horrible performance and eyesearing visual glitches no matter what I did
Flickers stale frames and is extremely ugly
Horrible stutter and jitter
Horrible experience overall and graphics glitches made it unplayable
Horrible performance on a horrible game, please don't pay money for this absolute scam. This was the first time I got a store popup in the middle of a custcene in any video game ever.
"Failed to load the anti-cheat module"
Used to work, though I have major issues with a big release like this not putting in support for anything other than the terrible and backwards xbox button layouts, but now doesn't even work anymore. Errors on the anti-cheat and doesn't run at all.
Unable to get in game
%command% --disable-gpu
changed game resolution in the launcher settings, added d3dx9, d3dx9_43, and corefonts via protontricks
Tried the methods elsewhere on this page but after picking a server, I would get a splash screen and a few seconds of music then the game exists
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%
Had some issues getting the aspect ratio correct on a 4k tv but a quick handle-jiggle of the settings fixed it
On proton-ge10-1, I could not get the controller to work with the wayland mode/hdr on. steam input doesn't work on wayland, and turning it off to use native controller input, the buttons were scrambled and unusable even after tweaking some options in the gamepad section of control.exe. I switched to proton 10.0-1 which doesn't recognize the environment variables or use wayland yet and it worked fine with steam input, sans HDR
Cannot link my tim epic account for cross platform save, get an error any time I try
Overall, works fantastically especially as a pre-release, just some bleeding edge features aren't hammered in yet on the wine/proton side.
Still doesn't work on nvidia cards with latest beta driver and 1.001 patch
Still has the issue on nvidia cards where level geometry doesn't load. Unaware of any workaround.
Experienced on both this machine and a laptop that also has an nvidia graphics card, the game will just show a black screen unless the configuration file is changed to use DirectX12 instead of Vulkan. The configuration file can be found this location based at where the steam library containing POE2 is: ../SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/2694490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/poe2_production_Config.ini
These seem to be early access related and not entirely out of line with what my partner on Windows experienced
Works great overall, as well as an early access release can be expected to. Hopefully the need to translate DirectX12 to Vulkan can be removed eventually to reduce that much more overhead, but in the meantime it works quite well
Bad input handling and fullscreen issues make for an obnoxious and unplayable experience
keeps minimizing itself, doesnt like staying on the monitor i keep moving it to, doesn't properly capture mouse input so its a nightmare to play
Would not capture mouse, would not respect screen changing modes and if the resolution is wrong it does that thing where the cursor and where it sees the mouse is wildly offset, this was quite annoying to get out of.
Overall unpleasant experience wherein i fully believe it's the way nvidia wants me to play it
It's just disappointing that this doesn't really work that well, with what should be long-solved issues with input and fullscreen ruining an otherwise shaky and unintuitive experience. Is RTX|ON™? Who knows, who cares, this just makes me wish even harder there was actual competition in the GPU space.
Don't need the launch options anymore, but prerendered videos will show a colorbar pattern with default proton. Works fine with GE with no major issues even at maxed settings.
Just Works out of the box far better than I would expect it to
The most striking thing is that Minion, the popular addon manager, has linux builds (I recommend using the flatpak, building it yourself or even getting the right runtime environment to run normally is a royal pain) and it pretty much just works, and is as goofy and buggy as the windows version. I was also able to run Tamriel Trade Center just fine and even set up a nice little steam shortcut to run it to update prices. Overall, perfect experience 10/10
Works perfectly, no issues, even with addons and tamriel trade center
