The only thing that doesn't work is ray reconstruction. The launch option is just to enable Frame Generation. It is not required to run the game.
Does not start

notable glitches, but playeble
40-50 fps with FSR3.1 Quality
Portal RTX remix is more technological demo, than the game itselft. Considering, that it is not supposed to be working on AMD cards and linux, it is actally working supprisingly well (with mod!). There is a lot of visible artefacts and performace isn't best, but you can see walk thru game to see and enjoy updated visuals.

RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command% -nogamepadui
The gamepad ui is completely broken no matter what I did. Best to just disable the controller ui, which is unfortuante as I mostly play with controller.
Game is basically unplayable without DLSS or FSR upscaling. If you have an AMD graphics card, the AMD mod for this is a must.

A bit more lag than I would have expected
Occaisionally crashes but not too often

Enter developer menu by pressing ALT+X, and configure graphics options here, to increase FPS
Around 40-50 FPS
Падение FPS без DLSS ниже 24, с DLSS на 16+ комнате падение ниже 60 и дергания (DLSS рисует 45 кадров, но по факту там 20-24)

gamepad (xbox elite 2) detected works on menus but unresponsive inside game
runs well with minor hardware incompatibility (gamepad). able to get 50-60 fps on 1440p with pathtracing (2 light bounces) and DLSS perform, ance mode, high textures and high particle effects.

Getting like 1fps on the main menu and then it just loops for 1 second
Do not use nouveau drivers, if you know Linux you should know they suck.

DLSS that I'm forced to use is very blurry
Performance on an RTX 3060 is a joke
Having to use DLSS ultra performance to get smooth gameplay experience is a joke in a game with such a simple geometry on a 25 teraflop ray tracing hardware.
Literaly doesn't work on AMD's GPUs

don't play this if you have an AMD GPU, even the most powerful AMD GPUs will struggle to hit 40 FPS without heavy configuration
RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command%
use portal RTX amd mod to make the game run faster (decreases clarity) https://www.moddb.com/games/portal-with-rtx/downloads/portal-rtx-amd-mod
decreased clarity from upscaler
Minimizing / selecting the game when it is in fullscreen with freeze the system for a few seconds
AMD GPU on an NVIDIA title

Doesn't work with a 7900 XT
-nogamepadui
The game gets stuck on the loading screen right before the initial menu, with a 1 second audio loop constantly playing in the background. Same results with Proton Experimental.

The Game is playable... if you have 7900 XTX.
Font seems to be borked
Since Nvidia drivers in Linux generally sucking ass, (Wayland session is not very good) AMD Cards are generally only considerable gpu in Linux, but this game is meant to be played on RTX Cards, so unless you have a really good AMD Cards like 7900 XTX.
1440p TAA-Quality with low setting to achive 30-20 fps, with TAA-Peformance Mode, 60 fps.
Not good for 1000 usd GPU's peformance, but playable.

Worked fine with no tweaks, just had to reduce graphic quality slightly to have a good frame rate, should try using windows to compare.
I expected the game to run faster with my setup, had to reduce to "medium" from "high" the settings
Just installed and used latest proton... worked out of the box

The Japanese Font were missing, fixed by forcing to run with Proton Experimental.
Cloud Save has borked
This tinker step was mainly for Japanese. Might different if you're ran this game on English or any other language.
日本語で標準設定でロードしようとするとフォントが豆腐になってプレイできなくなります。Proton Experimentalに設定すれば問題なく動く。
Attempts to load main menu, then window resizes, then black screen

Mouse escapes window if you move too fast
Can't get gamescope to work. Running the game in Hyprland consistently results in a kernel panic (that's a first!)

Performance problems are likely a result of the game being very intensive, not from the linux config.
Crashed on startup with GE proton. With Experimental, I still had to set DLSS to Ultra Performance to get the first level to load
With DLSS on "performance" and RTX on High, I get what feels like 30-60fps. Steam's in-game FPS counter is not showing up in this title so I can't verify.

1 second loop in main menu
Looks worse than original
Runs AWFUL
Barely works
UI scale too small

Throughout my playthrough, my game has hanged a few times, requiring a force close.
The game works alright, at least on nvidia cards.

mangohud %command%
Opening ALT+X shows 2 cursors
Runs at 30ish fps with a 6900XT on low preset without upscaler, 50-60 with balanced
At least it looks good though
Unplayable with Proton 8+. The character model renders over the player's viewpoint. Forcing Proton 7.0-6 resolved it.

it simply works, even better than windows
Freezes after the intro

Crashes on menu, to black screen
Game boots up fine then it just borks after the intro. Tested on same computer with Windows and it works well.

Runs okay, got about 30-40 fps on Ultra with DLSS, but that's about right for my hardware.
On two occasions I got heavy stuttering, which I was only able to solve by closing and relaunching the game.

gamemoderun mangohud %command% -novid -vulkan -refresh 60 -fps_max 120 +fov_desired 110 +fov 110
Lighting was permanently fullbright, and the game would not load the HD textures, or process raytraced lights.
The raytracing, the whole reason for Portal RTX existing, was non-functional.
You should play the original (non-RTX Remix) version of Portal. It runs great natively and has no graphical issues, unlike Portal with RTX.

The game starts up and the menu shows while loading assets until eventually I get a black screen and my system becomes unresponsive.
I also tried proton experimental with the same results.
4K max details | DLSS Ultra Performance = ~60FPS

Portal with RTX on Steam Deck, for what it is, I'd say go for it. It's nice that Portal with RTX runs on Steam Deck. Ray tracing on the go.
RADV_PERFTEST=rt %command% -nogamepadui -windowed
The defaut controller support doesn't work so I opted to find one of the community layouts and modify it to make it work with the Steam Deck. I set the right trackpad as the mouse and set the Select button (or View button) as ALT+X so that it opens the Nvidia RTX settings. I also enabled back grip buttons.
As you would expect, I have the game at the lowest resolution, using NIS in performance mode, looks pixelated. Although it doesn't look too bad, the original Portal came out in 2007.
With Fullscreen mode, it screws up with the display. It is recommended that you use Windowed mode so that it works right.
Due to heavy performance, the button inputs aren't quite as resonsive because the game runs at 20FPS at low settings and in performance mode because the game wasn't meant for AMD hardware to begin with.
Portal with RTX runs at 20 FPS on the Steam Deck using the lowest settings. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.
Conclusion, Portal with RTX actually works on Steam Deck. Portal with RTX on Steam Deck is a phenominal experience.

chell model is visible, portals aren't working as expected and no rtx
borked

Tried many things listed in this page but it didn't work. It runs with -vulkan but that parameter messes up with everything.
It just doesn't work for me
-vulkan

After the disaster behind mesa 23.2.1 completely borking the game, it finally now works with mesa 23.3.0.
gamemoderun env MANGOHUD=1 %command% -novid -refresh 144 -fps_max 144 -nojoy -no-browser +fov_desired 110 +fov 110
Slower Framerate, yet it remains acceptable.

Game doesn't seem to work on AMD
All monitors freeze for a few seconds after intros and crashes before showing the main menu

Borked on AMD
sadly i don't have a nvidia card so i wanted to try if this works under AMD but... no luck, it crashes after the intro and also freezes my computer lol

Didn't try it on Windows for comparison.
