I would strongly suggest using the native version even though Steam requires you to select a proton version.
gamemoderun ./BinLinux/BeamNG.drive.x64
The screen would occasionally flicker when my GPU ran out of VRAM. Limiting the FPS or turning down VRAM intensive settings should help.
Running the Windows version through Proton will crash in many cases, as it will try to allocate 20+GB of RAM.
Works perfectly fine. A different WM likely wouldn't have the windowing issues. They don't really bother me, so I've never had a need to fix
gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 %command% -skip_launcher
On Hyprland, the window steals focus of the full current workspace, and when switching workspaces, the game always follows.
WoA is the best bald-person simulator.
gamemoderun %command%
The game will occasionally drop to a stuttery low FPS when entering an area, but leaving and returning seems to fix it.
gamemoderun %command%
LAN and Community Servers work fine, including LAN with non-steam clients.
== Tinkering ==
I use gamemode for just about every game, to get a little bit more out of my system. The added command-line arguments make the report a "tinker report". However, even without gamemode, Mindustry should play fine.
gamemoderun mangohud %command% -novid -vulkan -refresh 60 -fps_max 120 +fov_desired 110 +fov 110
Lighting was permanently fullbright, and the game would not load the HD textures, or process raytraced lights.
The raytracing, the whole reason for Portal RTX existing, was non-functional.
You should play the original (non-RTX Remix) version of Portal. It runs great natively and has no graphical issues, unlike Portal with RTX.
