Game is mostly playable.
In-game music crackles/stutters from time to time.
Creation and management of decks does not seem to be functional. Pre-built decks are still selectable and usable, but changes to those decks will not be saved.
Certain maps will fail to load and weekly profile rewards seem to be available on every launch instance of the game.

Game itself mostly playable, except for inability to engage in core multiplayer aspect.
Infrequent staggering/freezing during certain in-game actions
Unable to connect and play due to ant-cheat software.
Initial gameplay stutters quite heavily, especially on the first load of maps. But after a couple of play-throughs the shader pre-cache is built and this issue goes away.
Note: the shader pre-cache will need to be built again, after every update. But it won't be nearly as bad as the first time (unless it's a major update).
Launch error: mono_gdb_render_native_backtraces not supported on this platform, unable to find gdb or lldb
Running mono-6.10.0.104-1
In order to get the game working again, I had to change the folder permission of the actual game files, by using the following command (execute as root):
chmod -R +777 /path/to/'Steam Library'/steamapps/common/CnCRemastered
The above command changes the folder and everything contained in the folders's permissions to be read ,write and executable by everyone.
There was an update to the game which suddenly resulted in a "Petroglyph Crash Report" on every game launch. The above customization managed to get the game working again for me.
Alt-tabing will bork the game, save and exit is recommended for the moment
If you do alt-tab and bork your game, it appears something goes wrong in the wine prefix. Attempting to run the game thereafter will not work and it will appear completely borked, since the problem is with the wineprefix re-downloading the game will not work. Solution is to reset the wine prefix by removing the prefix - not uninstalling the game. This will cause it to be re-built (make sure to do this while Steam is not running). The prefix is usually found in the following path: " /home/$USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1313140 ". Simply delete the directory "1313140" and its contents with your file manager or if you want to be fancy with the terminal: "$ rm -r 1313140". On next launch the wineprefix will be re-built and you should be able to continue playing from your lastest saved data.
Mostly playable running natively with steam-runtime libraries.
Crashes when using either the vulkan or opengl api.
Occasional graphical artifacts and higher rate of crashes using vulkan api. Opengl api provides more stability and eliminates graphical artifacts.
Mostly playable. Cut scenes are displayed but extend out of window/full-screen.
Large Address Aware launch flag is set to keep audio from falling out of sync once it had been restored.
In order to restore audio OpenAL32.dll was deleted from game files.
Large Address Aware proton launch flag was set to keep audio from falling out of sync during cut scenes.
Delete OpenAL32.dll from game files to restore sound.
When configuring the game use the launcher option provided. Do not launch the game from the launcher, as this breaks sound. Launch the game executable directly from Steam!
Large Address Aware Proton launch option is set to keep audio from falling out of sync during cut scenes.
Mostly playable with minor performance issues
Infrequent stuttering
Forced use of specific proton compatibility tool: Proton 4.11-13.
Running proton 5.13-4 resulted in severe graphical degradations making the game mostly unplayable.
Game characters did not render correctly upon first run (only sword and shield rendered). Passed the launcher option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% on the second run, which resolved issue.
Mostly playable with minor bugs/performance issues
Certain textures load with white artifacts
Infrequent stuttering during gameplay
Windowing appears to be an issue with standard proton versions: able to view the initial loading screen but once loaded it's either a hardstuck black screen or the window has "disappeared" - Display manager and Window manager in use during testing is Lightdm and Metacity (Marco)
In-game render was changed from D11 to Vulkan API (need vulkan capable GPU)
Infrequent minor stuttering
Game runs but not playable due to frequent stuttering/freezing that occurs in and out of cut-scenes. Only in-game menus run smoothly.
Significant stuttering/freezing
Origin perquisite complicates matters by sometimes throwing out its own errors, re-launched multiple times until success.
Game would run perfectly if it were not for minor bug
Minor Bug: The game appears to minimize itself whenever an achievement is earned by the player
Mostly playable with minor performance issues
Infrequent stuttering
Game is mostly playable with minor performance issues
Infrequent stutters
Native mostly playable with almost negligible performance dips
Occasional performance dips when entering new scenery even with vulkan pre-shader caching
Game will run on proton (unable to capture all inputs). Runs perfectly running Boxtron and Dosbox-staging as detailed in Dreamer_'s post.
Boxtron & Dosbox-stagging
