Native Support
Although this game has a Linux-native build available, Steam does not list it as having Linux support. This can happen if a game has an unofficial, unfinished, or unsupported build. You may need to force Steam to enable Proton for the game in order to run properly.

Works perfectly you just need to switch to proton exp.

Game still holds up today. Though I found that it wouldn't launch on just Proton. Used GE 9-13
it might just be what i'm running but couldnt get the game to launch on regular proton and switched to a GE proton
Would not launch with native Linux build had to force proton. hud elements are partially outside the screen: fixed with beta build743.0
Native doesn't work but proton works great

Switching to another virtual desktop on GNOME would ocassionally cause the game to exit fullscreen. Toggling fullscreen off and on again under Graphics Options fixes it.
Had to force Proton in order to launch the game.

Runs perfectly on Linux
Plug and play, as it should be. I used Proton Experimental, as with all my games on steam. I haven't had a single issue during my Tomb Raider playthroug. Enjoy!

Works great. Used proton 9.0-4 and it had graphical glitches switched to Proton Hotfix and worked flawlessly.

The game ran smoothly, everything was working normally.

Native crashes immediately. Launch with Proton.
Runs great under Proton. Performance and stability were excellent.

Native crashes immediatly. Changed to Proton Hotfix and it works great so far. 1080 on Ultra settings runs smooth as butter.

Native linux version does not work. Try proton instead

Works like native

- Minor artifacts when starting the game.
- I had 1 major texture bug at the end of the game. The fix was to fast travel to another map. Restarting the game did not work.
- When I used the regular version, the HUD pop ups like "something new was added to the map" were outside of the visible area. The beta version "build743.0" fixed this issue.
1 crash happened
The Game did not start with the regular proton version at all. Switching to GE-Proton worked great.
The game launcher appears but the game itself is stuck in a endless black screen

Does not work on Fedora + Nvidia. Main menu is a complete slideshow, and you can't move forward.
Rolled the Nvidia driver back to 550 and tried different Proton versions (7..9) to no avail.

Change TDP to 10w
Game looks fantastic on medium/normal settings with textures set to high. Was able to play at a smooth 60fps for 95% of the playthrough.

Change TDP to 10W
Changing the graphics to the medium preset and textures to high gives a solid 60fps for 95% of the game

Had to move all files from /Steam/steamapps/common/Tomb Raider/lib/i686 to Steam/steamapps/common/Tomb Raider/lib
after running for a longer time, game started to lag and some stages had heavy artifacts. Then it usually crashed
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% gamemoderun %command% -nolauncher
Lag and drop in large Zone -> resolved by force my monitor to go in 60 Hz (60Hz in game actually does notjing was at 115+ fps with a 165Hz monitor)
When in 60HZ forced Everything was smooth (somtimes tiny drops at 45 fps but rare)
Also Disable Tesselation and TressFX (The rest in max settings 2560 x 1440)

Worked after forcing GE-Proton. even though it was selected as default in steam, i had to force it. Otherwise Game wouldnt start

Plays similar to on Windows, maybe even better. Tested with the GOG GOTY version, using Heroic Games Launcher, runned in Deck mode.

Game shut down few times when dying

launched perfectly fine after switching to proton experimental

1° copie o arquivo libcurl.so.4
em /.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Tomb Raider/lib/i686/
para ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/
.

I don't think they were Linux-specific bugs. I ran into a puzzle glitch with VSync disabled where a box slid through a wall, and I ran into a QTE lock up when I had the refresh rate set higher than 60Hz. Enabling Vsync and setting the refresh to 60Hz fixed them.
Most of the issues I had were due to an older game and new hardware. Ultrawide support is native, but it the pre-rendered cut scenes are zoomed, so you lose horizontal visibility and they look a little silly.

Linux version doesn't start up. It can be fixed easily, but Windows version running through Proton is just better.

Linux version doesn't start by default. Can be fixed by editing TombRaider.sh
.

In the Linux version my Dualshock 3 doesn't vibrate at all. Works fine in Proton. Both versions display Xbox glyphs.
Windows and Linux saves aren't compatible. Windows files are .dat
, Linux files are .macdat
. Steam Cloud will store both.
Linux version runs a little worse than through Proton, although it's playable. Windows version through Proton runs great.
Linux version completely froze up on me a couple times in the last section of the game - I had to kill the game through Steam. Windows version never froze up like that.
Tomb of the Lost Adventurer DLC isn't playable in the Linux version. The entrance to the tomb is blocked off, as if I didn't own the DLC, even thought it's listed as Linux-native. Maybe it's because I got the DLC as a part of a bundle marked as Windows-only? You can enter the DLC tomb just fine when running the game in Proton.
If you're playing the Linux version, try Zink and see if it performs better than your native OpenGL driver.
Works well, nothing unusual. Just switch to Proton Experimental and optionally use linux-launch-fix
version.

While using 800p resolution, the UI was cut off. Switching to 720p helped. Note it is necessary to reboot the game for aspect ration to change.
There was a specific boss fight which always crashed the game at a specific point. After doing research I've found that the crash only ever happens when the game is running over certain framerate, so I capped it at 30 specifically for the boss fight and the rest of the game then ran fine.
Aside from the framerate bug, the game ran great.
