Runs flawlessly. Played through entire game. Game requires screen resolution of 1080p or below, probably inherent code limitation.
Works perfectly with proton 3.16-6. Used to have audio issues and low framerate in previous proton versions.
Plays like a native game with excellent graphical performance. Requires the file renames mentioned in other reports.
Played the game through without issues. Frame rate occasionally stuttered during complex scenes at 1440p, was completely smooth at 1080p.
Not stable
Voice acting disappears after some time of playing
Works reasonably well. Performance is a little disappointing, 50-60 FPS at 1080p and medium settings on NVIDIA GTX 1080. Unfortunately the voice acting consistently disappears after 10-60 minutes of playing until a restart, and the game sometimes freezes altogether.
Loading a quick save at any time, or any save after dying, might crash the game in rare instances. The same save file loads fine after restarting. Other players have reported this as well and someone reported they recreated this under Windows so it may not be limited to proton.
Works great out of the box. Getting constant 60fps at 4K on a GTX 1080.
Works perfectly. I use the gnome shell extension "Hide top bar" to hide the gnome shell top bar in full screen mode.
eval $(echo "MANGOHUD=1 %command%" | sed "s|2KLauncher/LauncherPatcher\.exe|MidnightSuns/Binaries/Win64/MidnightSuns-Win64-Shipping.exe|")
Lunch command needed to avoid 2K launcher, see other reports. mangohud is optional.
DirectX 11 version worked great. DirectX 12 version crashed frequently on Steam's Proton Experimental but was completely stable with GE-Proton8-15. DX12 had much lower performance so I stuck with DX11.
Won't start. Displays Unity startup dialogue, then a blank screen.
Won't start. Shows the Unity startup dialogue and then a blank screen.
The game did not let me set a video resolution. I needed to manually edit ScreenHeight16by9 and ScreenWidth16by9 in $STEAM_DIR/steamapps/compatdata/356190/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/WB Games/Shadow of War/render.cfg.
The game suffers from extreme mouse acceleration in most (but not all) of its screens. Moving the mouse slowly moves the cursor very slowly, moving it a little faster moves the cursor to the edge of the screen. It's tolerable when controlling a cursor on screen, but within the first hour you get to mouse-look around a 3D environment and it becomes unplayable.
Everything works well out of the box besides the mouse control issue.
Does not proceed beyond a black screen.
Runs perfectly. The full screen mode does not hide the Gnome Shell top bar, it can be hidden with an extension (e.g. https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/545/hide-top-bar/).
Worked perfectly start to end, except for a crash every few hours. The game autosaves very frequently so it's a very minor issue. Performance was excellent with DX11, slightly less with DX12.
The native Linux build is broken, at least on my setup. The mouse does not work so in game menus can't be used. The Windows version works perfectly using Proton.
Works like a native game.
For me Alt-Tab does not work when in full-screen mode
- Frame rate is not locked on installation, I did not need to edit any files.
- I got much better frame rates by disabling v-sync, no tearing is visible.
- Frame rate tanks to <10fps when changing graphics options but is fine after restarting.
