Great experience
My wheel a force drive gt had to be mapped manually and was locked to 360°, after starting a simple helper program called oversteer it worked fine though.
Works out of the box
Videos slowed down, so I had to skip them and wait until the others were ready to start the round
Works ootb, only issue was with videos, which suddenly slowed down to unbearable speed
Used the EA App Lutris script and installed BFH via this installation
As others mentioned, you will need to switch the user agent. By default, Battlelog will also want you to install a plugin, to start the game. This can be disabled in the Battlelog under settings. Besides that, the game works flawlessly.
Works without tinkering
Sometimes, does need two to three launches to start and probably requires Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime to be installed.
Great experience, worked out of the box
Not sure if slowdowns where proton related
Needed to start the game in Desktop Mode to properly update the launcher, after the first time playing the game, it can be started via Game Mode
Needed to start the game in Desktop Mode to properly update the launcher, after the initial run, can be launched an played from Gaming Mode
Only played for 15 Minutes to check inf it is possible
Great Experience! Works out of the box.
Worked out of the box
The launcher crashed sometimes while making the initial download, otherwise it run smoothly as expected
Worked perfect out of the box!
Had to giggle a bit playing the Windows Edition on Manjaro
"Fall Guys/FallGuys_client.ini" edit the first line: "TargetApplicationPath=FallGuys_client_game.exe"
Additional Steps
- Install Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime via Steam
- Copy the file "Fall Guys/EasyAntiCheat/easyanticheat_x64.so" into "Fall Guys/FallGuys_client_game_Data/Plugins/x86_64/"
Crashes every ~30 Minutes, very frustrating
No tinkering needed, even my wheel (Logitech Driving Force GT) got correctly detected. This makes playing the game itself a bliss. The random crashes are really annoying though. So If it you will enjoy the game depends if you are frust resistant or not.I recommend disabling the intro movie since you will be restarting the game a lot. Even though I enjoy the game, I don't think a typical gamer would have fun with the frequent crashes.
Crashes fixed, now works out of the box
My Logitech Driving Force GT, was not properly mapped and needed to be remapped
The game now runs without crashes out of the box
Did not work even with tinkering
Renaming the EAC folder and using Proton-GE did not work for me. I get an error that it cant find the EAC settings.
Native version wouldn't start, so switched to Windows Version. This ran without any more tinkering.
Seemingly randomly crashes
Got it running with Proton GE and the following launch option 'MANGOHUD=0'. First tried starting the game with another Proton version. I needed to delete the corresponding compatdata folder to get the game running.
Couldn't play multiplayer
Could play tutorial, without problems. If I tried to connect to a game, it just kicked me out of the lobby without any error message.
eval $( echo "gamemoderun PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 WINE_TSA=1 %command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Base\/Binaries\/Win64Steam\/CivilizationVI'/" )
Had to switch to proton version for multiplayer, since Linux version is outdated. Besides that everything worked as expected.
If multiplayer is no consideration, you can use Linux Build. Else force proton and use launch options to get around the launcher.
Couldn't be played on capped 30 fps, since the cutscenes then were out of sync. 60 fps worked like a charm.
