Runs perfectly
Had been played for 4h give or take, the game ran smoothly without any glitch or bug.
My GPU info might be wrong. I'm using GTX 1650 driven by nvidia-open, I'm sorry if there is any misinformation in my system info.

LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f --adaptive-sync --mangoapp -- %command%
Frequent frame drops and stuttering.
Maybe this game was Platinum a few years back. Or maybe the problem is my spec. I can only say that without the launch options the game is unplayable. The frame drops are simply too frequent, especially during combat. To give a summary: gamescope was the only way I found to avoid the frame drops, don't know exactly why, but it works. Even then, after 20~30 minutes the game would start lagging as crazy, with Steam Overlay disabled, so currently I have the Overlay enabled but added LD_PRELOAD="" and for some unknown reason the issue is avoided. Because of gamescope I needed to change Steam Settings > Controller > Desktop Layout to Gamepad, otherwise I can't use my Dualsense controller - keep in mind that Steam Input is required and 90% of the times the game will display XBOX buttons, it's annoying but not a deal-breaker, sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting the controller works and the game starts displaying PS buttons. Last but not least, I'm running with uncapped FPS, which causes the game's physics to become absurd, bodies flying everywhere. Anyway, after all of that, the game is finally enjoyable.

- 40 FPS
- medium graphics settings

Switch to borderless to fix this issue, else it will follow everywhere you go if you're using a window manager or a wayland compositor.
Tried reinstalling the game, trying out different proton versions, looking it up on forums, launching this game through steam as a non steam game, asking a damn AI about this issue, nothing could fix it.
When I tried playing the previous installments of the series (Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami) it worked fine.
Also I recall when I first launched the game the controller did work but now it does not.
My setup was GOG through Lutris and a Dualshock controller.
If the reader's a GOG user, expect controller issues like not being able to connect it and enjoy your game, unless there is a better support for Xbox controllers that I do not know of. I could not find a solution for this issue and you probably just get the game on Steam or somewhere else cheaper.

Decent enough yakuza performance
The games does not seem to run at the reflected >60 FPS which felt a bit stuttery at times but definitely tolerable. Tested at both 1080p and 1440p but performance was basically the same. Some minor reflection and shadow issues. I was able to complete the main campaign and Majima saga using a xbox core controller. Decent enough performance and definitely enjoyable.

W game runs with some small technical issues
FPS plummets for ~10 seconds every now and then
Tabbing out breaks the graphics, tabbing out again fixes it
gamemoderun mangohud %comand%

gamemoderun %command%
strange effects around hair, especially kiryu's hair
heavy stutters in open world(city) and cutscenes, not really enjoyable unless you get used to it.
Works flawlessly, no issues at all, stable framerate, looks great.
works out of the box

Might as well be native.
Perfect. Same performance as on Windows. Absolutely no tinkering needed, just click play and play.
gamemoderun %command%
Even in windowed mode the game wouldn't release my mouse from the screen. However, I didn't really investigate the issue so I don't know what it could be.

Disabled touch screen because touching it even slightly would cause the camera to swing around wildly at incredibly high speeds.
8TDP 40hz 600p upscaled using FSR /w high textures and geometry and low shadows
Right out of the gate it's clear that the new engine used for Y6 and Kiwami 2 is a lot more taxing than the old one used for Y0 and Kiwami 1. I played around with settings a ton during my time with the game, eventually settling on a mostly steady 40fps with the settings outlined under "Battery Performance". I say mostly, because even after a lot of fiddling I found it hard to completely do away with 5~10fps drops in the busier streets of Kamurocho or during really crowded fights with lots of objects getting flung around. You could potentially fix this by cranking TDP to max and lowering settings way down, but I generally try to target 40fps with a mix of medium/high settings to maintain fidelity and battery life.

Works great at 720p, medium settings, 42 Hz with 42 FPS cap, DoF off, SMAA. Sound crackles occasionally but it always recovers eventually.
Medium settings, DoF off, SMAA, 1280x720, 42 Hz
Sound crackles occasionally, especially after waking up the Deck, but it eventually recovers.
If you exit the game via the main menu, the screen will turn off and won't turn back on. Quitting the game from Steam works fine however.

Did some minor graphics tweaking in order to hit my personal sweet spot between FPS and graphical fidelity. I noticed this runs better at higher settings than Yakuza 7 does.
50 FPS cap 50hz, turned shadows/geometry/SSAO to lowest, 960x600 with FSR on

Framerate capped at 30fps.
Played through the entire game on steam deck, works great at 30fps.
Works without problems
Stable **40fps** out of the box, Close-to-stable **60** fps with ini tweaking & community patches

graphics.ini
located at/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/927380/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Sega/YakuzaKiwami2/
change the the appropriate lines as follows:resolution_x=960
resolution_x=600
- `render_scale="1.000"
field_of_view
=28aa=2
- Keep a copy of this config somewhere because every time you change graphics settings the game will overwrite everything to initial values
- Installed Silent Patch to help with frame pacing issues
- In steam's game settings set the custom command to
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=60,no_display mangohud %command%
- Futher helps frame pacing when steam performance overlay is not on
60 fps target
- Has some occasional slowdowns in crowded areas at worst to 50 fps
40 & 30 fps targets
- Flawless
Works perfectly out of the box, but can't really hit 60 fps. Has resolution slider in game, but FSR upscaling is far more superior (thus .ini tweaking needed). This game is not a great port to PC, so there are few community patches that fix some port-related issues. To use them, custom launch command is needed to hook a dll.
No real issues.
Sometimes minor artifacts in hair
Seems perfect except the few glitches
There are some glitches around hair during cutscenes
Mid high settings, 85% of 800p, a 40hz lock, and the game works very smoothly with 150 - 180 minutes of game time. Though FYI Kamurocho does have more fps drops than Sotenbori.
Runs perfect on Nobara (Fedora) Linux
Played both the main story and the Majima story start to finish with no bugs or crashes.
Max settings, 4k locked 60. I did have to set the resolution scaling to 90% to go from 50fps all the way to 80fps. But that's most likely due to the Gnome vram leak causng me to run out of vram.
Works great. No problems
Game worked out of the box on my setup, though it needed some small tweaks in order to improve the overall performance.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=30 %command%
Use borderless mode if you want to use Alt + Tab.
When playing on High/Medium presets I've experienced FPS drops to 30 when performing heat actions. When playing or High I also experienced significant FPS drops to 30 during cutscenes and heat actions as well.
Game crashed on me twice when I used Steam Overlay and the built-in browser. Besides that the game was stable.
I enjoyed playing the game on my setup though I had to cap my FPS to 30 because I experienced FPS drops while performing Heat Actions even on Medium preset.
30 fps lock
Game works ootb, is stable and the experience is smooth with 30 fps lock enabled via Power Saving Settings.
Almost perfect
Compared to windows, this game requires some loading of shaders first, then no problems afterwards.
The game requires a bit longer to load in shaders compared to windows, but otherwise once this is done. The game works perfectly with a similar performance to windows.
Runs well, although I have experienced a few crashes.
For some reason, even though there are issues with lighting in indoor cutscenes on my desktop, everything seems to run perfectly here. You can't quite run at a stable 40 fps at decent settings but you can get close enough.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
The game had some weird shadow artifacts that where pretty minor, the lighting during cutscenes sometimes had some pretty bad artifacts, such as everything in the cutscene being dark except for the eyes or some random objects.
Game worked pretty well, a minor amount of the cutscenes had the artifact issue, I recommend installing the Silent patch which seemed to fix some of the artifact issuses. https://cookieplmonster.github.io/2020/01/18/silentpatch-yakuza-kiwami-2/
Overall didn't have any issues or needed tweaks, can run a little hot at times. Battery life was about 3 hours on default settings unplugged. Changing performance and battery settings could probably mitigate this, not a huge issue. Looks and runs great on medium-high settings. Very fun on the deck.
Also ran with GE-Proton7-28 and used CookiePLMonster's SilentPatch
Lighting issues throughout the game. You can see flickering on distant moving bodies. Black character models in certain cutscenes really hamper enjoyment
