So far have played several hours the game runs fairly well on mostly ultra settings at 1920x1080, with a couple set to high. Getting between 65 to 144 fps. Haven't encountered any issues or crashes and didn't require any tweaks.
Stuttering while shader cache was being built. However pretty smooth after that.
Needs mf-installcab https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab and didn't work with mf-install. Run WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/397540/pfx/ ./install-mf-64.sh and copy mfplat.dll to ~/.steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 3/OakGame/Binaries/Win64. This will allow the videos to play otherwise when you launch the game you'll sit at a black screen for about minute until you get to the main menu. There is some stuttering that is experienced while the shader cache is built. After that the game runs pretty smooth.
Excellent performance and runs without any issues
After a couple of hours of game play. I didn't encounter any issues except if you use taskset to launch the game, it will fail to run. Otherwise the performance runs at a stable frame rate without any noticeable drops.
Played Dishonored 2 to completion (Low Chaos). The game runs okay but there is a lot of stuttering at the beginning of each mission. However if you use the async shader patched dxvk found here https://github.com/jomihaka/dxvk-poe-hack this will eliminate most stuttering. This can be installed by downloading the zip file under Releases and doing "protontricks 403640 --force setup_dxvk.verb" to install. In launch options use "DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%". With my GTX 1080 with max settings, the frame rate can fluctuate from 55 to 120 fps. Completed Dishonored 2 in about 27 hours.
Runs quite well once I disabled EAC (hex edit) + disabled Uplay overlay. I also had to grab dinput.dll & dinput8.dll from Windows 8.1 and add a dll override to fix the keyboard/mouse steering. Overall performance is very good most times around 100-120fps on max settings at 1920x1080.
I own this game on Uplay but added it as a non-steam game and played it entirely with Proton through Steam. Plays very well on the highest settings, usually getting around 90 fps. Disabled uplay overlay and I copied dinput.dll and dinput8.dll from Windows 8.1 and added the overrides in winecfg.
Ran without issue or needing any tweaks at 1920x1080 & using a PS4 controller for input. Completed the single player campaign of Hitman 2 and Patient Zero with about 22 hours of game play.
Completed game from start to finish with multiple endings with around 40 hours of game play. Didn't need any workarounds and didn't run into any issues. Just pressed play and the game works. I hesitate to rate any game platinum but I think Prey qualifies.
The game launches but will not show the video for the intro and eventually hangs using Proton. The game needs Windows Media Foundation. It works using the Lutris installer https://lutris.net/games/seven-the-days-long-gone/ using Lutris to launch the game I've played about 5 hours without any issues.
To launch successfully you need to enable the virtual desktop. If you get protontricks you can do "protontricks 307690 winecfg" then go to the Graphics tab, and then check Emulate a virtual desktop and set it to 1920x1080. Then the game will launch and won't hang with a white or black screen. However it will crash sometimes during missions. And having played about 7 hours I'm unable to progress because it will consistently crash on the "Payback" mission when you get into the cop motorcycle. Sometimes right at the start or sometimes once you get going in the motorocycle. This is part of the main story line I believe so completing the game isn't possible until this is fixed. I've tried various things but always seems to crash there.
Install protontricks. Then do protontricks 242640 dotnet40 & protontricks 242640 xact_jun2010. Avoid using NVIDIA 415.13 as the game crashes. Downgrading to NVIDIA 410.73 fixes it. Didn't try NVIDIA 415.18 as it was just released at the time of this report.
Seems to run fine and haven't experienced any crashes
Crackling is caused by using PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC. Removing this environment variable where ever its set has removed the crackling. You'll hear the crackling at the initial loading screen and during game play when PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC is set . After removing PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC the crackling is gone.
With a mix of ultra, high and medium settings, on average I'm getting around 70-90 FPS with some occasional dips below and peaks above at 2560x1440. So far I have 3.7 hours and haven't had any crashes. Removing PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC fixed the crackling. The game seems to think I only have 8GB VRAM when in fact I have 16GB (AMD RX6900 XT). Using WINEDLLOVERRIDES="amd_ags_x64.dll=b" will fix this issue but you'll get some missing textures curtain on the start screen. So I opted not to use that to avoid any in game issues.
Ran perfectly, completed the game without any issues. About 21 hours of total game play.
