No tinkering needed. The game works out of the box. 60 fps looks great. I don't recommend 40 or lower for battery life. Averaged around 4 to 4.5 hours.
A = Enter, B = Escape, X = I for inventor, Y = M for map
Tutorial and various prompts are a bit small but legible. Stat screens completely clear.
Game does not load if you do not enable Proton Experimental.
The game works out of the box. No tinkering necessary. You'll get some 4.5 to 5 hours of battery life.
The game is fully functional on the Steam Deck; the only issue to note is that the opening cutscene does not play. The game will load to a black screen and remain there until you press any button. After you press any button, you'll be able to play as normal.
Game works straight from launch. By default, the resolution is not set to 1280 by 800 but this can be updated immediately and easily. Average battery life at max settings lockd at 60 FPS is around 4 hours.
The gamepad buttons were adjusted to pause, use special, and cancel.
Cards need to be selected to be legible. You cannot select cards while the game is paused. Cards are legible unselected on a monitor.
Using the trackpad and R2 as a left mouse click is usable but not ideal. The game could definitely benefit from a "stick click" function. Basically clicking once so the card stays held instead of being forced to hold R2.
The game is overall playable and enjoyable but there are a handful of frustrating items. The cards are difficult to read until selected and the game needs to be unpaused to select cards. This doesn't give you much time to learn and think; generally forcing a faster play style.
The game could definitely benefit from the following:
- UI Scaling
- Controller Support
Regardless, the game is enjoyable and playable on Deck. Battery life 4.5 to 5 hours.
Installed Steam, enabled Steam Play, tested Proton experimental and 6.3-5. Press Play, game does not start.
Frame were a little lower than usual, but overall the game ran all right.
Character textures in character creation were all black. In a saved game, loaded into a completely black room with only the in game neon signs visible.
As noted in the graphics area, textures were all black. The game was unplayable.
Works great via Steam Deck. Lock to 30 FPS to save battery life. Frames will drop below 30 on the busier fights. Overall, game feels better at 60.
Inputs not recognized. You can press any button to skip the opening screens but once you're in the main menu, none of the buttons work.
The controller would function until I entered the main menu screen. To fix this, I was required to perform the following:
- Load the game up via PC.
- Plug in a controller.
- Go to gameplay settings and enable Controller Support.
- Exit the game and await cloud sycning (took approximately 30 seconds).
- Load the game up via Steam Deck.
