Works very well, only had one crash. (Not sure if even proton related)
If you're interested in modding, so far it seems like a no-go, the modloader can be manually built on Linux, but it doesn't seem to put files in the right places atm. Astroneer modding is kinda dead so this isn't really a big deal anyway, the only mod worth getting is the autosave mod but you can go without.
Had a few issues connecting to a private lobby at first, but once connected it worked entirely
Works great OOTB, even on Wayland. Add DWrite.dll to dll overrides using protontricks or with WINEDLLOVERRIDES="DWrite.dll=n,b" %command% if you want to use Script Extender. Also, use lampray to install mods, not BG3MM.
Switched game to use legacy version 1.29.1, and it worked fine on GEProton 9-2, including using mods. Did not work using the latest version, crashed repeatedly.
Worked OOTB, did not test online but I assume it will not work per other peoples reports.
Launch the configuration tool and turn off movies, then it'll work just fine
On Wayland running the 555 Nvidia driver, teleporting to a new area will occassionally cause the game to visually freeze up. Sound is still running, and minimizing and maximing the window causes the image to update, though still frozen. As far as I can tell, this does not occur on X11, and this still occurs when using a gamescope session on Wayland. Restarting fixes this, although I've also had plasmashell crash when the visual freeze happens. Hopefully will be fixed with the 560 driver release.
VKD3D_CONFIG=force_bindless_tex_heap mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Added dxvk.conf file: [Diablo IV.exe] dxvk.maxChunkSize = 4
Needed to add some tinkering to stop the game from crashing when hitting max VRAM on Wayland with Nvidia 555.52 driver. Seems either the dxvk.conf or the launch options helped fix the VRAM leak somewhat.
Running on 555.52 on Wayland, works OOTB no issues. Added a DLL override to use BepInEx for some QOL mods.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" %command%
It is playable. Does not perform well, crashes frequently, but playable. Given my specs are below minimum im surprised it works at all.
VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_NV_low_latency2 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 LD_PRELOAD="" mangohud WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=native,builtin" %command%
Deleted nvngx_dlss.dll and sl.dlss_g.dll to stop stretching textures, seems to work? Also unequipping any capes seemed to help, as those cause a lot of texture stretching.
Game has a tendency to fill VRAM very fast, resulting in crashing on Wayland. Happens hourly, although lately it seems to have gotten better with my launch options.
Had to install ntp with sudo apt-get install ntp to get online working. Seems to be some weird issue with time clock sync, also seems to affect Windows users so this seems like a Strive issue, not necessarily a Linux issue. Regardless, install ntp and it should work OOTB otherwise.
Works perfectly ootb.
No performance issues, no crashing, multiplayer works perfectly. Completed the story with no issues, sitting at a little over 20 hours.
Native works great, but....
Run the game with proton if you want to use EVE (environmental visual enhancements). The shaders for EVE are specifically made for DirectX and they'll glitch out on the Native version, but work fine on proton. Otherwise, just run native.
Works great
If you want to use mods, use protontricks to add the modding .dll, and then mods work just like on Windows.
LD_PRELOAD="" %command%
Note: On my laptop with a hybrid GPU, I had to put the following: DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650" %command% in order to get the game to launch.
Runs literally perfectly out of the box, like native. Enjoy your potential for moisture.
Only thing I had to do was kill DXSetup with system monitor
Smite released an update recently addressing anti-cheat on Linux. It now runs perfectly with no issues.
I noticed about a ~15fps decrease from Windows and some slight stuttering here and there. On top of that I had to redownload once to get origin to install correctly because it was in an install loop.
I've had a few random crashes while loading in and playing the battle scenarios. Battle scenarios I'm fairly certain are bugged in general as I get similar crashes on the same computer running windows, and an entirely different machine running windows. The crashes on loading into normal games though seem to be proton related as they don't happen on Windows. But they are infrequent so it could just be the game.
Overall seemed to work fine out of the box, but I didn't play Forces of Corruption which seems to cause issues for other users so keep that in mind.
On forces of corruption, I get a random crash very rarely.
Have not played MP online, so I can't comment on that.
On singleplayer the game will randomly crash from time to time. On multiplayer the game will crash if I host the game and try to have a friend join, but not if the friend (on windows) hosts it and joins, then it works fine. One time the multiplayer crashed and took my entire computer with me, but I've only had that happen once.
Occasionally crashes playing Forces of Corruption
Mods work fine, but the game seriously stutters when warping in ships and giving commands. Will be running at ~100fps and drop into single digits when warping in a ship, then go back up after a few seconds. It can also happen when giving commands to a ship. However, besides these stutters, mods seem stable.
I feel like I should've been able to get just a bit more FPS (was hitting 49 on max settings) out of the game considering the simplicity of the graphics, but it could be the game and not proton.
