Played with Proton-5.11-GE-3-MF and Moguri Mod 8.2.1.0 up until the first save point. Saw no issues. No changes needed to get this working.

Works better than native client because 2-3 quests have a game crashing bug on the native client that doesn't exist in proton.
Use export SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS=0; %command% as your launch options. Make sure to export SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS as it won't be inherited by the main executable otherwise.
You need to play for a while before the game's cache stabalizes. After a few hours of playing, you should no longer have any performance issues (at least performance is in line with the windows version). The first boot may take several minutes.
Just to follow up with what @DNC has said (Sorry I didn't notice your previous review either), the game does have an issue where switching characters results in being unable to chat until you relog (I usually just close / open the client again). I'd still give the game a positive review despite the minor annoyance of restarting the game after I cycle through my 30 pylons.

It looks like Embark has now enabled EAC for Linux. Tried several matches. Game runs without any issues (and run well too with DLSS + GI at 4k with no noticable slowdowns). Probably one of th emost impressive MP games I've played on Linux.
Crashes without an fsync kernel or disabling esync
Cold Steel 4 has the same issue as Cold Steel 3. Either use an fsync kernel or use PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1.
Even with the fix described on this fix the game never starts up. No Errors displayed.
Coincidentally, I happened to install Warframe while Warframe was pushing out an update so it looked like the launcher wasn't working when it was because the game was down.
Some lag when first starting up the game. Closing & Restarting fixed it.
