Text was pretty hard to read
Changing to fullscreen, windowed or borderless does nothing
Even when locked to 30fps I would get drops to under 20fps and when locked to 40fps any time I swapped weapons or looked/walked around it dropped under 40fps
Low/very low settings with a 30fps and 40fps lock but still got bad performance even with dx12
Looking/walking around or changing weapons caused the game to stutter and drop frames
Text is hard to read
Very strange but i also got less frame drops when plugged into a charger and the second I was on battery the game started performance bad but still was pretty bad on charger
Overall I would avoid playing this even with very low and 30fps lock with 75% scale it's not stable
60fps feels bad this season with bad frame times and drops
On steam deck this season I find it hard to use 60fps because the frame times are bad so ended up using 40hz/fps and it was a solid experience besides 1 or 2 spikes when in a race
I've tested this game on other handhelds and it runs flawless so not sure if it's a Linux/Deck problem but it works fine
races run at 60fps on high settings but the game looks bad and temps go higher than AAA games and videos run at 24fps at least for me
was able to play from start to finish at 60fps default settings with no issues
Removed Volumetric Fog in engine.ini
Missing and flickering textures at times
No vibration
Stuttering at points
30fps cap with fsr 2.0 balanced and all low I'm getting a constant 30fps with stutter due to bad optimisation
I've had about 5 crashes in 10 hours of gameplay and sometimes textures are missing or flickering
Fun game and despite what I've listed you can still enjoy the game just with slight hiccups
Out of the box was not great with the steam deck but I was able to fix it with a few changes
-dx12
Out of the box I was getting bad performance in episodes 1-3 but fixed it using below settings
-dx12 command proton ge 7-47 800p medium 40/30fps lock
Was able to play episodes 4-6 at 40fps locked with very minor dips in heavy parts
Audio did crackle at times but only for a few seconds and very rarely
Overall very playable
Medium settings
60fps while on field
Slight dips when videos start to play
I didn't experience any crashes
Not only fun but very playable
Locked fps to 30/40 if you want to eliminate dips during videos
30fps lock
30fps lock with vsync off Forced proton experimental Mix of high/medium with no fsr Game looks and plays amazing with no dips
A few levels had slight cracking but only for a few seconds
1-2 levels had flickering textures in a few places
Cloud saves didn't work
Constant 60fps Medium settings Tessellation off
Handful of levels had slight texture bugs but still playable
Audio would crackle a few times but lasted only seconds
In 7-8 hours of gameplay I only had 1 crash
Overall very playable and better than switch versions
Default controller preset caused the menus to keep scrolling right so I changed it to a generic controller layout to fix it
60fps solid with no dips
Mix of high/medium settings
I had 0 issues
Played from start to finish with no issues
Game is capped at 30fps by default
You can lower the tdp for better battery life
Great experience for anyone trying to play it
Shadows were blocky and not smooth
Constant stuttering
Had to use proton 5.13-6 otherwise I was unable to finish episode 2 without it crashing
Downside is shadows look messed up but using proton 4.11-13 can fix that
Every time a video played or slight action started the game would stutter every few seconds even with the frame rate locked at 30 and 40 fps
In the end it's only just playable if you can handle the issues you'll enjoy the game
Strange thin lines around characters a handful of times
60fps with no dips Was able to play from start to finish Had some thin lines around characters at times but it happens rarely and was easy to avoid
45fps lock
High settings with a 45fps because 60fps was a little stutters
Game plays great with no issues
If you want to use your previous saves from other seasons look up the commands online
Audio crackles a lot and at one point missed dialogue due to a skip in audio
Shadows were messed up
Had to use a konsole command to get the game to load my S1 save
Shadows were all messed up but switched to 4.11-13 and that fixed it just like tales from the borderlands
Audio has some crackling and skipped 1 line of dialogue but overall playable
Install ubisoft connect to blacklist so you can bypass uplay and play the game
Starting normally you'll get stuck on uplay and won't be able to load the game so you need to do a few steps
- Download protontricks
- Select splinter cell blacklist
- Install an application
- Install ubisoft connect
- Once it's installed exit and load the game via steam and you'll be able to play
crackling at times
small fps drops during 1v1 matches
around 15 crashes in 5 hours of gameplay
during showcase the videos would flick black or green across the screen
i played the showcase on steam deck from start to finish and suffered around 15 crashes plus videos would flicker with black and screen lines nearly every video so not very playable
