With everything on ultra and DLSS active on balanced I'm playing with a resolution of 2560x1440 and the game stays all the time at about 165
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% --skip-launcher
I had to delete the InstallScript.vdf
file located in $HOME/.steam/root/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3
because it was frozen with the installation of dotnetdesktop6
The only problem I had was installing or skipping dotnetdesktop6
, but thanks to user grewek (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4243#issuecomment-1662759434) I was able to skip the installation

There are two problems:
- Black screen as soon as you run. 1.1 You need to log in to Origin to change the game settings. To run Origin look (in this case steam app id is 1238080): https://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/0/3104638636521148019/ 1.2 In the game options you need to disable "Enable Origin in game" and add the following argument -skipvideos.
- When starting a new game, the screen goes black again: 2.1 You need to load a game where the initial video has already been played, I downloaded the game from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t4bL1JC6Hvcmf8-Lj00HoR42YCVx8tQ7/view 2.2 Once downloaded, save to ~/.local/share/Steam/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1238080/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/Criterion Games/Burnout Paradise Remastered/Save
All the information I have found to run the game:
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
The game is running perfectly, without any problems, lag or anything else.
I am using Proton experimental v6.3.20211118, in addition to the Proton version, I am using the following launch parameters:
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12
mangohud gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
Without touching any Steam settings the game runs perfectly at 2k and 165FPS (limited by v-async).
Using the latest experimental proton version (6.3.20211221) it works perfectly at 60+ FPS without having to add any extra parameters.
I haven't tried the co-op mode or the multiplayer mode, I like to play the story mode by myself. So I don't know if these two modes work or not.

With my computer I have to play with everything set to minimum, but the FPS remains stable at 60 FPS all the time.

Sometimes when you have Ray Tracing activated when you use the flu powder, the game closes without warning.
To enable DLSS 2 (DLSS 3 doesn't work on Linux yet) and Ray Tracing set the game parameter PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr
With Ray Tracing (medium) + DLSS 2 prioritizing the quality + everything at maximum, I'm going around 100FPS playing at 2k.
I use proton experimental-6.3-20210930.
The game stays at a stable 30FPS and the movement is very fluid.
In my configuration, I have used gamemode (https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode). These are the properties I used in the game gamemoderun %command%
I use the experimental proton version v6.3-20211027.
When the nvidia driver version was updated to 495.44 the FPS went up from 25 FPS to 40 FPS.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
With everything at minimum I'm getting a result of 60 - 80 FPS all the time (without dropping below 60 FPS).

In cities you sometimes see a black flicker.
On rare occasions this flickering lasts a little longer and the screen turns off with a message "Synchronization error", when this happens it is solved by turning the monitor off and on again. This leads me to think that it is a vertical synchronization issue.
Sometimes the game freezes. The solution to this problem is to wait (don't touch anything) for 20 sec - 1 min. On rare occasions, the freeze lasts a bit longer and the server will quit the game due to lack of client-server connectivity, then you log back in and that's it.
From what I've seen, this happens when an attack (either from an in-game creature or a player) has not been previously processed, once processed, for that ability it doesn't happen again.
Using the experimental proton version (6.3.20211203 and newer) the game runs perfectly at over 60 FPS.
When there is a fast-moving cinematic, the FPS drops for a few seconds, but then rises again to around 60 FPS.
In my case, I add the gamemoderun option to the launch parameters of all games.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Sometimes when moving the mouse fast the game freezes for less than a second
I only found one complaint, the maximum FPS was 60fps, but since it doesn't go below that, it's not a big problem.

Playing at 2560x1440 with all graphics in ultra I have 165 FPS stable. I have DLSS enabled on balanced with 16:9 aspect ratio.
