Worked perfectly back when I had the OG version on my GameBoy as a boy and also works perfect on my Steam Deck these days. What a great little gem <3
Works great
Well Done Valve and Proton Team
Well done Valve and Proton Team

GPU clock set to 400 as the game is old and not demanding. Doing this boosts battery life past 4 hours

Works out of the box
Froze once while playing but otherwise stable.

The game works great on Arch Linux. The performance is solid and outside minor flickering of the sprites, I didn't notice anything unusual.
I only noticed occasional flickering.
The saving, controls, audio, graphics, and everything else functions well with no tinkering and default settings.

I have beaten this game to it's fullest at least once! It is a very hard and challenging game filled to the brim with treasures, enemies.
Game running at 1080p proves some slowdown, however once dropped to 720p resolution it runs perfectly.
Game runs flawlessly with the Nvidia Geforce GT 610 and Intel Core i3-2100. I am sure Ram does not matter for this game.

Fonctionne parfaitement dés le premier lancement.
Le jeu fonctionne parfaitement avec la version 8.0-3 de Proton.
5W TDP and GPU to 800

gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Starts up and runs perfectly. Dualsense controller working fine. Using Wayland. First time I launched it crashed but then after that totally stable.

The game crashes frequently
I've tried several time, but the game crashes after sometime playing

I had three freeze events occur in different play sessions across 7 hours. I could not identify what caused them. This meant having to replay the levels I was in the middle of since the game only saves upon level completion.
I uninstalled because of occasional hard freezes that mean losing all progress within a level, but I imagine most people won't care about having to replay only 15-20 minutes of a level again in such a short game.
A few really small frame drops at the final climb in the final level.
Crashes before cutscenes
Game is essentially unfinishable for me
Constant freezes
Game freezes constantly, not only during cutscenes but even gameplay, and it doesn't save your progress during a level, so you'll have to start all over again until you manage to finish one without it freezing.
Perfect.
Froze twice in the little I played it.... Once in the middle of the Amazon boss so forced to restart and 2nd time on Transylvania intro.
Maybe a new version messed this up but I got too annoyed from everyone saying its supposedly perfect.
Game freezes during cutscenes.
Could not get the game to window, regardless of what resolution I chose from the options menu it alwas forces fullscreen. Most likely an issue with the game itself and not Linux/Proton.
During cutscenes the game would freeze and I had to alt+tab back to Steam to close the game from there.
Only way to avoid freezing was to skip cutscenes.
Works great with default Proton 7.0-3
Tested with a Steam Controller on KDE Plasma Wayland, no problems at all
nothing to tinker

Game works perfectly.
Completed full playthrough with no crashes and perfect performance at 1080p (no lag or stutter).
Used Logitech Gamepad F310, which was detected automatically.
Full-screen and windowed modes both work properly.
The game works well except some occasional crashes.
The game doesn't work properly after 1080p
DuckTales Remastered using Proton is an enjoyable experience.
The game didn't get/use the save file from Steam Cloud.

There's no issues whatsoever unless you have a display of over 1920x1080; and the fix to solve that takes less than 2 minutes.
The only issue with the game is if you have a monitor that's above 1920x1080, where you aren't able to see all the screen real estate. It's an easy work-around to fix, though. If you can see the opening menu enough to change the graphics options, change the resolution to 1920x1080 there. If you can't see it, there's an engine.ini located within the data folder for DuckTales Remastered. Erase everything inside and replace it with:
[window]
width=1920
height=1080
fakeFullScreen=1
fakeFullScreenMonitor=0
Full screen not working properly. Works flawlessy with proton 4.11-13 as far as I can see
I tried first with Proton-6.5-GE-2, then Proton 6.3-2, then Proton Experimental. All with wrong full screen. Not showing the entire image area. However, using Proton 4.11-13 shows the entire screen correctly in fullscreen
Seems perfect
No problem with playing the game on 1920x1080. But on 4K you only get a quarter of the screen.
Could not get the screen to display fully when set the resolution to 4K.
If you set the resolution to 4K, and only get a quarter if the screen. You can edit it in the "engine.ini" file located under:
data/engine.ini
in the local files.
Crash on the final boss.
Runs out of the box. I recommend using a controller

Game can be played except the final stage
Crashes frequently on the final boss. It's a known problem with the game though, not an issue with Linux or Proton.
