Perfect performance
Works perfect out of the box, no tinkering, no need to increase vm map size, nothing, just Proton Hotfix and works at 120~fps on high.

Oops all Crashes

after updates fixes in 1-2 day
THE FINALS is the prime example of how current games must works on linux in terms of support: just hit download and play ..of course if update wasn't rolled few days ago, since this may and probably will break game :) in this case you can just force any rolling-release Proton (Proton-GE / Proton-Exp in my e.g.) and enjoy game even right after updates

the only issue that exists is shader cache can take while but it isn't much. used proton expermiel cuz i felt like it.

In short, I have had to spend probably close to 15 hours tinkering and modifying my system to get it to work.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_USE_EAC_LINUX=1 LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun %command%
Fullscreen Exclusive and Fullscreen Windowed modes cause significant crashing events. Windowed mode does not seem to have this issue.
Logging is ineffective and will not generate for Proton, Wine, or Steam when configured as a launch option. Was able to get logs generated once and it talked about Vulkan problems but changes recommended to fix them were ineffective.
Regular crashes within 56 seconds of game starting in windowed fullscreen. Playing in windowed mode seems to resolve the problem but is miserable from a screen size aspect.
Man, this game is great when it runs. I've watched my resource allocations of both CPU and GPU and neither show abnormal behaviors. I have no idea what causes the crashes or why or how but when the game runs smoothly, it's a silky experience.

game-performance %command%
Completely indistinguishable from the Windows experience with no tweaking needed.

Works better than windows, performance is great. Rarely is there a perfomance issue, but if there is, it can be solved by a simple relaunch.
gamemoderun %command%
Rarely when alt-tabbing, performance will be degraded significantly until restarted. Annoying when it does happen, but not game-breaking unless you're in an intense match. Definitely not fun to deal with.

Crashes too often to be playable. Sometimes you can get a few rounds in without one, but other times it crashes within a few seconds.
Crashes too frequently to bother trying.

In the flatpak version of steam, it starts stuttering every few hundred ms, 32min after game launch
Use native steam version if you get the stuttering on flatpak after 32min.

game always crash or freeze
Really unstable, frequent crash, fps cut by half by some bug
Love this game, but i really hate ue5 with the bug

it works fine
The game works perfect out of the box for me

works out of box, no tinkering necessary

Without using GE-Proton10-4, I got a crash after a little bit of playing. With GE, I played for hours without issue.

Getting kicked from Server (TFGE0025)
PROTON_USE_EAC_LINUX=1 LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Game kicks me from Server (TFGE0025) when trying to join a game using Proton-GE and Hotfix. Experimental doesn't kick me but I'm stuck in the loading screen

Expect possible degraded performance. The game sees no official support to make it work well with Linux.

loss of 15 to 20 fps
I used to play this game with equivalent or sometimes slightly better performance than on Windows. By the end of May, the game broke, always crashing with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000000. After a long period of trial and error, I got to make it work again by reinstalling the Steam client itself.
Since then, I experience worse performance, a loss of an average of 15 to 20 fps compared to Windows. We're talking about a range of 40 to 50 fps from the previous 60 to 70 fps.
LD_PRELOAD="" is absolutely necessary to avoid extreme performance degradation to the point of being unplayable. It will disable the Steam overlay. Until Valve will push a complete fix on the live version of Steam, this is a mandatory launch option.
gamemoderun might be a necessity if your system runs switchable graphics (gaming laptops, desktops that have a CPU with an integrated GPU as well as a dedicated GPU) as it will ensure the correct card will be used. The game has the tendency to go for the integrated GPU otherwise.
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Runs perfectly well by simply clicking play.

Game doesn't run well, and sometimes just start running even worse and stays that way until restarting it.

It's unlikely to complete three matches in a row without the game crashing and requiring a reload. Ranked play is unfeasible like this.
gamemoderun %command%
Usually after about 20 to 40 minutes of playing, the game crashes and I have to reload the game.
I've found that only the Proton Hotfix version works, delivering a smooth experience with 144 fps. However, it's not without issues, as it tends to crash eventually. I've also tried other versions, including Experimental and 9.0-4, but they fail to launch the game altogether. The 10.0-1 beta version does work, but only for about two minutes before crashing, and even then, I'm unable to start a match, making it a less viable option than the Hotfix version.
Worked without any tinkering

Stürtzt abendzu mal ab. Hatte ich aber vorher bei Widnows 11 auch nichts neues.

The performance is comparable to windows however the problems with textures are just a dealbreaker.

Some textures are outright missing. Everything looks like its charred/burned version, every wall looks black. Thick fog in the beginning of each game that takes a couple of minutes to clear.
slight input lag
Higher gpu time than on windows, sometimes higher by 50%
I think if you are on a 10 series card stick with windows for this game. the texture problems are terrible, nothing looks correct.

Used Proton 9.0.4 at the start, didn't work and then changed to Proton Hotfix and now it's working without a problem
The game seems to run about 10% better than on Windows 11 for me.

proton 9 / proton-GE 9 = crashes after few min, but SMOOTH as butter proton 10 / proton-GE 10 = no crash, but STUTTERS every sec, unplayable

Mouse often escapes window on dual monitor systems, leading to loss of control.
Game will often cause major GPU crashes and resets to the point that it can crash an entire session.
Used to be more stable however recent updates have made the game unplayable.
Game runs just like I'd expect. Smooth and fun without any issues

this happened on two different fresh installs of endevour os and archlinux on two different nvidia gpu and amd pc the game crashes on both pc's while in menu

this game hasnt been playable on linux for weeks

Game crashes soon after startup
Tried installing various .NET frameworks and flags, but game crashes with same error every time right after start up
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000000

Doesn't work on CachyOS w/native proton package
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command%
Fresh CachyOS install, game crashes soon after startup (right after precompiling shaders screen) with a UE5 null pointer exception. Happens regardless of proton version. Also tried mesa-git (vs mesa)

Input lag
scaling using TAAU and disabling V-Sync and DLSS removed input lag on the mouse entirely.

Not really playable unless all you want to play is quick cash, FPS is very choppy, no matter the proton version or launch options. Apparently the game used to run smooth so hopefully they fix this.

Runs worse on low-end hardware on linux
Alt-Tabbing would not work as expected at times
Significant (0.1-0.3 ms) delay on mouse inputs
In-game fps is significantly worse than on Win11
Random crashes on launch and after loading into a game.
~12 minute (timed) shader loading time on launch. Win11 performed much better at ~1 min (untimed)
My pc specs are significantly below the recommended specs, however it still performs worse on average compared to this same pc on Win11. All noted issues were non-existent or less significant on Win11. Several tinkering solutions were attempted but none solved the issues.

DXVK_ASYNC=1 RADV_PERFTEST=aco PROTON_LOG=1 gamemoderun %command%
Game starts stuttering after a few games, game process has a huge CPU load at that point. Only restarting the game solves the issue (for some time, approx. 2-5 rounds).
Tried different proton versions, such as "Proton Experimental [bleeding-edge]" as well, but there is no change to the issue.
Not really enjoyable in this state.

Artifacts/Anti aliasing looks funky.
After tinkering switching proton my game will not run even close to how it would on Windows. Hit scan weapons are unplayable as there is a constant stutter/frame delay.
Occasional crashes since kernel level anti cheat a couple months ago. Proton 10/experimental works at the moment.
Playable especially if you enjoy the game. Will not be able to play at your peak with hit scan weapons as the game does not run perfectly (constant frame delays) making you innacurate.
