GOG Galaxy install script (https://lutris.net/games/gog-galaxy/) with the latest installer from https://www.gogalaxy.com/en/, then install the game from there

Just works
Despite simplistic graphics, performance is pretty bad. For me it was 2560x1440@~80FPS, so read a benchmark if you don't have a 5090.

Works well, used similar settings to the review below, set AA to high,it looks a bit more stable, turned VSYNC off, TSR looks better vs FSR
Good art design, global illumination and colour choice shines in this game.
Worked perfectly

A normal player experience. The Logitech gampad F310 works great
A normal player experience. The gaming experienced is really improved with a controler. The Logitech gampad F310 works great.

By default, the game graphical preset is set somewhere between medium and high. It sort of runs at 60 fps if you're not looking at too much details, but as soon as you move the camera around, it drops to 40 or less. Having read some of the other reviews, I settled with the following configuration:
- Screen Resolution: 1280x800
- Display Mode: Borderless Window
- Maximum FPS: Unlimited
- Motion Blur Intensity: Maximum
- Enable HDR: Off
- Anti-Aliasing / Upsampling: TSR (default)
- Resolution Quality: I set the progress around S & R in TSR
- General Quality: Custom
- Vertical Synchronization: On
- Anti-Aliasing / Upsampling: Medium
- View Distance: Low
- Post Process Quality: Medium
- Effects Quality: Medium
- Texture Quality: High
- Global Illumination Quality: Medium
- Foliage Quality: Low
- Shadow Quality: Medium
Besides these settings, I also set the steam deck's refresh rate to 40 Hz (40 FPS) to have a more stable frame rate across the gameplay.
Throughout my playtime, I experienced a few drops to 35 fps or so, but they happened rarely and they didn't impact my gameplay in any way. I'm pretty sure that you can get 50 fps if you turn everything down, or that you can get a stable 30 fps with some of the settings bumped up a little, but to me, 40 is the sweet spot (and the trade-off that I can accept 😅).

100% completion. Ran very well throughout. Only location I could even tell the framerate was getting a touch low in was the bar / restaurant area in chapter 4, which I suspect was from the number of light sources in that location.

Works now, after not working for months
Worked for me out of the box. I'm sure there are ways to get a better battery life but I didn't bother looking into it.

Sometimes it hangs on start
Sometimes a black screen shows on start and nothing happens.
Completed without any issues
Works fine out of the box

ran perfectly out of the box

gamemoderun mangohud gamescope -f -w 1920 -h 1080 -r 180 --hdr-enabled --adaptive-sync --mangoapp --force-grab-cursor %command%
I fixed it by restarting Steam. For some reason after installing Jusant, my Steam wasn't able to launch any games. Everything is working fine, my DualSense controller, DLSS/DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex, HDR, etc.

Doesn't seem work on NVIDIA hardware.
It worked on my Steam Deck, but not on my desktop.
I've tried GE-Proton, Proton Experimental, Proton 9, my own compiled Proton-tkg, the enable nvidia api line variable in the launch options, proton hide nvidia gpu launch option, SteamDeck=1 launch option, launching the game directly the executable using wine and proton (Running it with wine gave me an error relating to the GPU, but it didn't launch).
Après mise à jour des pilotes graphiques et utilisation de 'Proton experimental' je n'ai plus rencontré aucun problème

Had to lower graphics because it is quite ressource intensive. Don't know if it's a lack of optimization or if it's a Proton related issue.
Surprisingly quite demanding

Couldn't start with any Proton version
Tried GE, experimental, and a couple of 8 and 9 versions that had apparently worked for other people. Experimental did an "epic games thing has crashed do you want to send a bug report" and with every other version it just spun for a while then didn't even open a window.
Would not boot at all
Tried everything listed here - just would not even start up...
Eh, the problem could be not the right combination of hardware and software.
Tried proton experimental, older versions, and the launch options recommended below; no succes.
Can't launch, just shows the splash screen
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr,force_static_cbv VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL=6_6 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_EXT_mesh_shader PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%
Several camera micro-freeze during chapter 4
works well, a few very minor visual artifacts. Some of the movement is a little janky sometimes, but I think thats the game, not proton

gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%

Tried everything I could find, no dice :(
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11,dxr,force_static_cbv VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL=6_6 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_EXT_mesh_shader PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 nvidia-offload %command%
When using Proton Experimental, it claimed that my GPU was out of date (it's not). Otherwise, it crashed silently.
Doesn't launch. Tried several proton versions & tweaks.

Fonctionne parfaitement Proton 8.0-5
Lancé avec le dernier Proton sorti actuellement (8.0-5), j'ai pu finir entièrement le jeu sans jamais rencontrer aucun bug
Game hangs at startup. None of the previously suggested workarounds fixed it.
Worked well out of the box

gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Game worked very well with my hardware setup and Raytracing (High) + DLSS 3 (Quality).

gamemoderun %command%
I didn't play on windows so I'm not sure if the performance was any different. The game did run slower than I'd expect but it could just be like that regardless
