Work flawlessly so far
The game run pretty smooth under Linux and the anti-cheat that is infamously known to be installed in a lot of Nexon's game is not in the game.
So go ahead, sensei, go play it on your Linux system.
Extremely playable, besides the tiny issue
Borderless Window will have a white border around the game, setting it to Fullscreen while in-game could fix it but rarely it will turn the game screen black if a match starts while you alt-tab out of the game.
It is also possible to mod this game while on Linux, the old way of naming file _0.. _8 works, or there's also h2mm-cli by v4n00 and the experimental hd2mm launcher from the Helldivers 2 Community Discord server that work for it.
If you want to **** your sister with the least amount of issue, protontricks can help you with that, download the patch and use protontricks, then pick the game, the installer will help you pick the installation path of the game and let you install it.
Run fine without Background Recording
You might enable Background Recording for other games, but for this game you should disable the Background Recording, at best it will record without sound(which defeat the point of recording a rhythm game), at worst it will crash the game.
If all you want to play is base game with Afterbirth and Afterbirth+, the game can be run without using any Proton configuration;
But if you want to play Repentance and Repentance+, you'll first have to enable the "Enable Steam Play for all other titles" for the DLC to even show up on the DLC list, then you have to enable the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and set it to "Proton Experimental" to even launch Repentance and Repentance+ otherwise it will launch without Repentance and Repentance+.
If you can configure all of it then, the game can run pretty smoothly without any issue from my experience.
If this is the kind of game you enjoy, it can run fine, no issue from my limited testing
