play in windowed mode and youll have no issues
doesnt change the resolution of the game itself when fullscreening
doesnt work with the 2 latest GEproton releases
Great game, runs right out of the box, abeit feels a bit slow
very playable with standard proton version, would recommend switching to GE for a more smooth framerate
Slowness is a very small issue, but achieved more smooth FPS with GEProton, might also see better support in the future so most likely a temp issue
you will prolly not have a lot of trouble playing it with normal proton altho for me I couldnt tab out or it would black out the screen, though this was fixed with the newest geproton version and I played on that the rest of the time, where there was no problems
unplayable on wayland and with nvidia
a lot of stuttering on wayland
plays fine on X11
installed lav splitter
the settings bar at the top of the screen is displaying in the middle of the screen thus not being able to access it
Dont know if you need to install LAV filters through protontricks but I did it as it said further down, altho other comments says its not needed with the newest version of Geproton, so would suggest trying just with geproton itself and then protontricks if that didnt work
-force-vulkan
just have to force running vulcan and it works as it should
small annoying issues abound, but its not gonna stop you from generally having a good time
would not scale output properly, fixed with GEproton
slowdowns, low fps compared to playing on windows, bossfight was atrociously bad performance, might be because of EA though
crashed once while discord screensharing
you can play it in window mode with normalt proton, but would highly recommend GEProton for this one
works perfectly, even the intro which some people have said to have problems with running (just having a black screen)
works fine, no issues, would get stuck a bit when looking at new items but might be because of my old harddrive
works well with the newest standard version of proton
was a bit worried about EAC issues, but it just started up and played
playable but will take all your ram
absolute RAM hog, keep a swap in handy
I always think people are being a bit too overdramatic when they call some games an absolute memory hog, but in new world its not a joke, a bit too many people in cities will crash your game even with 16gb of ram, can recommend having a swap of about 2gb handy if you wanna do anything else or have at least 32gb of ram
it does work on 7.04 but for me it was a very sluggish experience with mouse jitter. however, with the newest geproton it works like a dream, same if not better fps than on windows and mouse jittering dissapeared completely
after all the anime cutscenes it freezes on the last frame, but you can just skip it (select and start button simultaneously on my controller) and it will go on as normal, this can most likely be mitigated through the MF-Install prefix, but if you dont wanna bother with it this works just fine and youll still get to see the entire cutscenes with no issues
Native support with ren'py
the ren´py engine has support for linux which makes it a native experience with no problems.
wine will give a fatal error sometimes when using the beacons, not very often though
bosses will occasionally stop attacking and become unkillable, most likely just a general bug
had to put graphics on p low to get over 60 fps, granted my gpu is beginning to show its age, but the game doesnt look amazing, so most likely not super optimized, but not unplayable by any means, got minor performance by switching to GE
works fine without issues with proton-7.0.4
nothing to see here, install, run and play at your hearts content
only problem is that the cutscenes wont play(you can still skip them by holding down esc)
