MONSTER HUNTER RISE

Works fine on Ubuntu via proton forced experimental. Load times seem to be a bit longer than Windows 11. Most mods do not work :(

The game kept getting stuck on an infinite loading screen everytime when starting a match. Closing the game and re-opening would allow me load into the ongoing match, but would cause me to miss first 3-5 minutes of every match.

As soon as the loading screen issue is fixed, this game seems it will be 100% playable on linux.

The in-game shader compilation seems to recompile everytime, ends up causing a 15-20 minute wait before I can play.

The in-game shader compilation bug every launch makes it pretty bad to play right now on Linux.

Works fine out of the box on Proton Experimental, Proton GE on the latest version gave around a 5fps boost, but both are playable.

Performance:Significant Performance Problems

Performance compared to Windows 11 on the same hardware is significantly worse. Still playable, but was getting around half the performance than Windows.

Multiplayer seems to work fine with no issues.

Significant worse performance compared to Windows. Still playable but not ideal. I've only played on the vanilla version of the game, no mods.

The game runs great, you can get a somewhat solid 60 FPS or locked 30 depending on your preference.

Battery Performance:Made Changes To Improve

Graphics settings were set to low with the in-game FSR turned on.

With the framerate limit set to 60, was able to get around 2 hours of battery while playing on various maps with a full charge.

With the framerate limit set to 30. I was able to get around 3 1/2 hours of battery from full charge.

I did not tweak the TDP so you may be able to get more by doing so.

► Multiplayer

Overall (online):Excellent

Multiplayer works great, had no issues with it.

Make sure to turn on DX12 from the title screen settings.
