VSync makes the game stutter a lot more. I've turned off VSync and raised the frame rate limit to 2 times of my monitors refresh rate. Runs smoother this way.
Some animations are repeated with DXVK.
Using Sway, the fullscreen was buggy and had to change to windowed and go back to fullscreen everytime.
Frame drops are present sometimes.
WINED3D was complete garbage for me. But that could also be about my graphics card. My integrated and discrete GPU gave almost identical performance, so I guess "prime-run" could be removed for better stability, considering I have an NVIDIA GPU.

I used Glorious Eggroll's Proton-6.5-GE-1 for better performance and connection.
Input gets laggy when switching windows. Wine D3D has less input lag.
Switching windows sometimes causes heavy lag in-game.
- Multiplayer is often laggier when there are background processes, which doesn't happen on Windows.
- Game doesn't let you login when you first enter and it tells you to login after waiting a while. You can try to enter any multiplayer mode after opening the game in offline mode and it will go back online.

Some lighting had noticeable flickering, but it wasn't hard to forget.
As a side note, keep in mind that playing with fractional scaling on Wayland causes a single pixel wide black transparent bar on right. However, this is a problem with Wayland and not Proton so I didn't list it as an issue.
I used Proton 4.11-13. It didn't work for me first. I set launch options as PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Pretty good. It's native anyway.
The FPS was capped at 30 FPS in fullscreen. Windowed is fine. Could be a Sway/Wayland problem.

The audio keeps playing when the window is not in focus, but the cutscene pauses so they get out of sync.
After about 2 hours of gameplay, some lighting like scoutfiles have noticable artifacts. It might annoy some people.
I haven't had any issues with DRM yet.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
Enabling DirectX 12 solved all artifacts and graphical problems. DirectX 11 seems unstable.
The camera sometimes goes wild when I use mouse input and starts spinning rapidly. Even restarting Wayland doesn't work, I have to reboot fully to make it work again.
Make sure to enable "DX12 API" in the settings for much better performance and graphics.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=0 %command%
Alt-Tab in fullscreen sometimes crashes the game.
The cursor is a bit pixelated for some reason, but it's not even that noticable in my opinion.

Switching to a different window or workspace while starting a chart makes the audio go out of sync. I don't know if it happens on Windows though.
The game doesn't even launch. Tried Proton GE, another Proton versions and even some launch options.
Doesn't launch with Proton 9, Experimental or GE.
gamemoderun %command%
Might be related to Nix, as libcrypto.so.1.1
is also not found, though other games still work flawlessly.

Menus are glitchy when using DirectX. OpenGL is fine.
Crashes when changing video settings.
While launching using OpenGL, it gives some errors at start but it works after dismissing those errors.
You can enjoy the game, if you don't care about visual glitches or missing blocks. Otherwise it sucks.
Proton-5.11-GE-1-MF GloriousEggroll
Menus and chat are glitchy and white while using DirectX. Nothing else is weird.
In OpenGL however, menus and chat are fine but, decor blocks are missing. Including crafting benchs, portal bases, trading post, trovian atlas, spikes and things like that.
It had white borders around screen.
Alt-Tab sometimes crash the game while using fullscreen.
After Alt-Tabbing while using OpenGL, mouse input starts go sttuter and glitch.
Performance is really low while using DirectX.
OpenGL is fine but performance gets lower if you Alt+Tab.
It crashes when changing video settings, sometimes...
Mods also work.
GloriousEggroll Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
3D Blocks and Enemies are missing when using OpenGL. DirectX is all fine. (DirectX has visual glitches on menus while using PROTON_USE_WINED3D)
Fullscreen was not covering whole screen in GNOME and crashes sometimes.
Input stutters sometimes.
It was better with Windows, but it is not that noticeable.
You need to set "PROTON_USE_WINED3D" to "1" if your video drivers don't support Vulkan. If you are sure that your GPU does support Vulkan, make sure to use correct drivers.
