Slight headset movement delay, very minor.
I recommend enabling Async Reprojection, as the graphical issues that come with having it enabled are only found whilst changing games, or in the SteamVR home.
If you're just playing the base game, it wouldn't be too bad, but you're still not getting the full experience out of the game.
Game starts as 800x600 resolution by default, changing it to native (1920x1080) resulted in having to restart my game due to half the screen being black.
Multiplayer & Zombies both error with "Unhandled exception caught" and crash.
The game runs smoothly, and I had no issues with save games, but the biggest caveat for me is no multiplayer.
The main menu had some performance issues / lag, but this occured on Windows as well. Also, there is rare and infrequent lag / stuttering.
Runs perfectly out of the box
Works just as good, if not better than Windows.
Even with an NVIDIA GPU running on GNOME Wayland, it runs beautifully, if not better than on Windows. Gameplay is smooth, frame drops are rare if even there at all, and overall is just an amazing experience.
Was hoping for a miracle, no such miracle was received. (EAC)
Easy AntiCheat completely prevents play, I am unable to even install EAC initially.
The game opens, and the opening cutscene plays, but gameplay does not start.
The game does not open on Proton Experimental, and the initial menu is not visible. On Proton 7.2-GE-2 it opens, and the opening cutscene plays, but it blackscreens as soon as the cutscene is over, or upon skipping it.
Game played out arguably better on Linux than on Windows, however, in some areas such as the bit where there's water in the first few minutes of the game down the stairs, heavy glitching and artifacts can be seen.
Game does not launch on Proton 7+ (including custom runners such as GE)
Runs just as it does on Windows.
Not sure if it has to do with the most recent patch, or moving the it to an SSD, but the game runs absolutely flawlessly (for Security Breach).
If you're fine with running this game slightly slow, maybe not depending on hardware, then it'd be fine.
Heavy screen tearing, with and without VSync
Medium Input Delay
Extreme stuttering and input delay
It takes some work to get it set up. The UI freaks out whenever changing graphics settings, which is almost required since by default the refresh rate was set to 50hz. I was able to run the game on High / Very High settings, with Depth of Field, Ambient Occlusion, and FSAA / MXAA enabled. The values do actually update when you save them, but the UI doesn't reflect that until you restart your game.
Initial menu is visible albeit buggy, and play does not start.
There is issues getting in to free flight due to the free flight menu flashing black except for where the plane preview is. Upon the main gameplay window opening and the progress bar completing, the screen remains black. Audio is fully functional though.
Side note: The game will NOT start on any Proton version > 6.3.8
protontricks'd d3dcompiler_47, d3dx10, d3dx11_43, d3dx9_24, d3dx9, and d3dxof; which of these are actually required I don't know
Heavy artifacting at the freeflight menu / graphical degridations at the Free Flight menu.
Fullscreen locks the game resolution to 800x600.
World FPS is eh, HUD and other framerates are atroctious
There is some very rare minor stuttering, but nothing too severe.
Voice recognition does not work (due to Phasmophobia utilizing Cortana Voice Recognition).
Turning on lights can sometimes cause the game to lag heavily.
Phasmophobia will not launch on default Proton or Proton Experimental (Unity Crash Error).
I always play with forced-experimental but I'm sure the game will work on stable proton. The game runs flawlessly if not better than on Windows.
Game installs perfectly fine, II press play, it says performing 1st time setup (every time), and never opens.
Game Starts but AntiCheat Prevents Play
The game starts perfectly fine now, which is an improvement over how it used to be. But while connecting to servers, you get disconnected for an invalid OS. It does say "You have been global banned", but I was not.
Mouse sensitivity is a bit inconsistent. It handles large movements just fine, but smaller more accurate movements are rarely picked up.
Slight FPS issues, seen on Windows as well.
Multiplayer works perfectly.
Bless Proton Experimental, she runs on Linux again! Runs decently well, just as I'd expect on Windows.
Rare stuttering and lag spikes.
Multiplayer worked without any issues.
I have not tried stable proton as I have experimental by default.
Due to no BattlEye support for this game, typical gamers on Linux would not enjoy playing without Multiplayer.
Multiplayer is unsupported due to BattlEye
Local Multiplayer works essentially perfect.
Everything in-game and in the UIs ran smooth and without problem. There was minor stuttering but that is to be expected as it occurs on Windows as well, which likely has to do with my hardware.
Multiplayer works perfectly.
