Borderless Windowed is very problematic for me, I can't recommend it.
Works exactly like it would on Windows.
Excellent experience on Linux, although it does disappoint me that the native version does not work very well with fullscreening.
Game works on the steam deck but will crash for no reason with the logs showing no signs of an error.
gamescope %command%
I reinstall arch just for this to work but was met with disappointment after the second time I tried opening the game
It takes some tinkering but there is nothing that I typical Linux user can't do that you have to do
Playing with a controller sometimes straight up doesn't work, the fix for this is going into Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> Desktop Configuration and changing it to gamepad mode
Sometimes drops frames to 30 or 20 but I had the same problem with Windows so It's not an issue related to Proton or Linux
Sometimes disconnected but very rarely. Proton is probably fully at fault here but the issue is still there.
An absolute masterpiece, runs like a dream on linux after some tweaks. In comparison, It is capable of running better than Windows in terms of performance.
You can put this into launch options to further optimise the game: PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1
It just works™
Literally the same as on Windows on recent versions of Proton.
Arcade mode is the only "local" gamemode so it works since the game has no problem running in general.
The game works aswell as it does on Windows.
Just do this: https://youtu.be/ls_DFIPG8oQ and you'll be good to go, check desc If 16:10 isnt working for you on deck
here's my tutorial on how to get it working via steamtinkerlaunch: https://youtu.be/ls_DFIPG8oQ
Epic Online Service doesnt launch If you don't launch it on fall guys' launch with steamtinkertools. Causes an error with the code "Error 200_19002"
I can get mods running with Proton so that's a huge win. Had to force a different version of proton due to that.
A Yakuza game that takes place after Yakuza 6 with it also being playable on Linux. Nothing new here. Good stuff, SEGA.
There's a known issue where you get stuck at 99% loading, this is going to be fixed soon, most likely.
The online took me freaking 3 months for me to get to work, I don't know why but deleting the proton prefix a bunch of times and forcing 7.0-5 worked in the end.
took too long for me to get it to work, It should be fine for all users now. My solution didnt make any sense, not even to me at all..
This took me way too long to get it to work. Almost spent 3 months trying to get this game (that I didnt even play) to work. Deleting the proton prefix a bunch of times and forcing 7.0-5 worked and it made no sense when I got the online to work. It should probably be fine for new users but hell was it stupidly hard to get it to work.
One of the most fun mobile shooters on PC works on Linux without effort from day 1.
They added EA Anticheat to counter skids exploiting and banning everyone and it didn't even work. Good job EA.
This isn't a huge loss because the game was unplayable online due to skids being able to ban anyone they were in a lobby with anyway. The game was unplayable before and after the anticheat was added.
Had frame drops down to 32-47 fps from 148 on Windows as opposed to a stable 140-180 fps on Linux.
Works better than It does on Windows. Hopefully they don't break Proton compatibility in the future.
Stuttering when explosions happen, going from 180 fps to 40 fps in some instances
This game's ""online"" is really bad and is not official yet but given the game itself, running this via proton makes no difference so there is no difference in network performance
Played tons of this with my pals, It is truly an amazing game to play on linux
Repentence requires proton and also yes, mods do work.
depending on your setup you might need to change your proton version but otherwise this is a great game, played a ton on my steam deck aswel
the experimental online accessed through the -networktest parameter is horrible but it is the same way on Windows as it is not complete.
Some mods make the game crash on death but this might not be a proton-issue as there is no promise of all mods being stable.
Works like it does on Windows. No long boot time either, it just works.
If you're a fan of the Outlast series and want to had doubts about moving to Linux since newer games don't tend to work on day 1, you're in luck because It seems like Proton has gotten to the point where you can run most new releases on day 1 perfectly.
It uses proton 7.0-5 by default but for some reason It boots up faster If you don't force the proton version on both my deck and desktop.
It works as well as it does in windows once you actually get through the UPlay/Ubisoft Connect installation.
The game works as well as it would on windows once you get through the ubisoft connect install
The online for the game is pretty awful regardless of if you're on Windows or Linux, the problem is not related to Linux itself but Ubisoft's matchmaking system itself.
The game itself is a steaming pile of shit but at least it works great on linux.
Despite the EAC stuff, I got it working with no tinkering. Truly an amazing feat for Proton 7.0-5
It works better than windows without any tinkering.
One of the best entries to one of the best game series of all time runs and works BETTER on Linux than on Windows.
What are you waiting for? GO PLAY IT!
