I could not get past the Intel Logo but opting into the 1.5 beta seemed to resolve that.
The games performance was not great(choppy) but still playable enough to enjoy.
The game will show a blank screen and then CTD. It does generate a minidump file after the crash which I might try to take a look at some time.
I used winedbg to analyse the minidump file generated from the game crash. The issue appears to be with vrclient_x64.
Backtrace: =>0 0x00007f38901fa7f4 in vrclient_x64.
Game runs smoothly, the audio EQ does not sound correct but not sure if that's just the game or a proton thing.
I did not test any of the online stuff. Great VR game to use to get some exercise.
Some face masks do not render properly. I do not know what they are supposed to look like but something is not right.
There are currently a few area's that are completely dark. You will encounter this during the heist and no-tell motel missions. These missions can still be completed by making use of the scanner.
It seems this game is now very playable using NVIDIA cards. Using driver 460 and proton-tkg I am getting 60+ FPS.
Games runs very smoothly. Online does not work. I tried copying the EAC files from paladins as mentioned by previous reports but that did not work. As suggested by a previous report to get the game working I downloaded the EAC files from the google drive link in the following youtube description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0MCeeetoTo&feature=youtu.b
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgamemode.so mangohud %command%
I suggest running in "Windowed Fullscreen"; If the game freezes in "Fullscreen" it freezes the whole system (Can't even access tty).
Very rarely; the game will freeze.
Game was stable with my hardware and maintained high framerates even with alot of action on the screen.
Game runs and looks great even on lower setting (which did not improve performance).
The games framerate was not great but playable if you do not suffer from motion sickness.
It would be worth waiting for the Linux version that has been "confirmed?"
Game runs at playable frame rates (35-50fps) on Very High settings. As mentioned in other reports, some tweaks are needed to get the correct resolution.
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgamemode.so mangohud %command% --nologo --waitforpreload
If you use Fullscreen; sometimes when you activate another window and then go back to PoE2 the game will switch to Windowed mode and you have to change the setting back to fullscreen.
The Game is still in Early Access and needs optimisation.
The game has a "Adaptive Resolution" feature to maintain framesrates when there is a lot happening on the screen (This is a feature and not a bug); The main problem is that it does not take much for this feature to come into use and the game does not look very good when this happens.
On occassion the adaptive resolution feature does not help and the framerate will drop to unplayable levels.
However, windows users have reported the same performance issues.
The game supports Vulkan which is great for Linux users as it saves time loading shaders, as well as disk space to store them.
Played this for several hours without any issues related to playing via proton. Default maps run very smoothly.
A few custom maps seemed to stutter but this might not be a proton issue.
The anti cheat that stopped the game from working at the start of the year prevented the game from even launching so proton users could not even play against bots.
I tried this in VR with HTC Vive. Performance was great and it ran without any tweaks.
