VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/amd_pro_icd64.json %command%
Runs out of the box with Proton Experimental. I do not know if this is normal, but the loading times are very long. The first time I've run "New Game" the loading time was at least 5min. At first I thought it was stuck at 23%, but it continued eventually.
Stuttering especially after and during the initial load of of scenes. (Proton Experimental and 6.3-5)
Nothing too bad, just a freeze of ~1 seconds from time to time; does not decrease the gaming experience.
One time the the world in front of me did not load quickly enough and I fell through a bridge. This happened once during ~18h of game play; could be a hiccup of my system as well.
TLDR; Don't tinker with the start command and run it as is.
I reported earlier that that I have significant performance issues with the game. The problem was on my side. I am always tinkering with the start command of steam games to set the (presumable) correct Vulkan ICD file,. Turns out you should not do that in this case. Run the game as is with Proton Experimental.
Freezes on loading Screen with Proton 7.0 and above. With Proton below 7.0 the launcher crashes and the game doesn't even start.
Freezes on very first loading screen with Proton 7.0 and above. Doesn't even reach the main menu. With Proton below 7.0 the launcher crashes and the game doesn't even start. Also tried different GE versions, with the same results.
Sometimes it did freeze and I had to force close it. Other time I got a "LowLevelFatalError [File: unknown][Line: 4075] Retry was NOT successful." error message.
I changed to different Proton Versions. Proton-GE 9.1, Proton-GE 9.2, Proton-GE 8.15 and some official Proton versions like Proton 8.0-5, 7.0-6, Proton Experimental and I tried to not force any Proton version and let steam select the default one. I even tryied switching from wayland to X11 but it doesn't matter what I do, sooner or later it will crash. (within 1-2h of playing). It also seems that these crashes happen more often in some specific areas.
- Jack (Daddy) had some sort of a sticking out polygon at certain angles.
- Reflections were looking a bit "glitchy" in some scenes.
Pre-rendered videos (cinematics) do not play; had to watch the ending scenes on YouTube. Tested with Proton Experimental and 6.3-6
Follow these instructions and it will work just fine https://squadfm.org/#installation-linux-only
Match making does not complete
Starts just fine with vk_radv %commang%
but match making does not work.
Unplayable with DX12. Works with DX11
This report is based on experience with DX12. With DX11 the game seems to work with no problems.
With DX12 the game only runs, when changing the graphic settings to low. Otherwise the game will immediately freeze. But even on graphics set to low (DX12, no RTX or no Nvidia Hairworks) the game runs with ~15 FPS with graphic glitches so severe, that it is unplayable.
