EAC Breaks Compatibility
Because EAC is a post-install install, it does not get installed as a "library" or part of the redists. Perhaps if EAC was part of that install "process" it could be possible to run as it would be "part of the game"?
100% fixable but would require DBD to include this through steam imo.
No difference from windows in connectivity and latency
I had attempted several launch parameters which seemed to make stuttering/sync issues worse. I ended up using the WineD3D For Windows DLL files for DirectX 9 (Dropped in the same directory as the game exe). Textures and models are good, animations are smooth and loading is quick.
Stunningly, Beautifully Smooth
Words can not describe how well this game runs on linux. I swear it looks better on linux then it did on windows.
Currently I have settings maxed out in 4k with no launch options. The only thing I have done is added WineD3D (credit: fdossena) to the game exe directory.
Satisfactory has recently added native Vulkan processing which has performed much better for me than dx11 (even with wined3d).
Using Proton Experimental
Launch options "-vulkan -nosplash -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -NO_EOS_OVERLAY -nothreadtimeout"
(vulkan shading - skip the splash screen - multi-threading - no epic overlay - disable render waiting)
Added to hosts: 13.49.73.86 stun-1-nat.ol.epicgames.com 16.170.15.254 stun-2-nat.ol.epicgames.com
Note - I've seen people saying to forward ports but I think that only seems to apply to hosts - if you're using a standalone server or connecting somewhere else I have been able to connect without any changes to my router but this may depend on things I do not understand :)
Getting ~60fps on Med-High settings using vulkan compared to 50-55 on dx11.
