Boots up and runs just like it does on Windows.
The only thing I don't have is the enhanced debris feature for Nvidia but that's really a non-issue and something I didn't even notice until I looked at the settings. First time I booted up, the FPS was lacking, so I stopped and tried again a few weeks later. Smooth sailing ever since.
A few very simple tweaks to make but otherwise 100% functional
Didn't always start in fullscreen by default. I sometimes had to change the settings, but once I did, it was fine. Resolution as well. My monitor is 1440p but it usually booted with 1080p.
A lot more sensitive than normal. Moving it slightly to the right was nearly a 360 turn. Easily fixed by changing mouse settings granted.
Flawless
I don't have much playtime yet, but it's already been perfect. Godot is the ultimate Linux-friendly engine. You can run Godot on a coffee marker (probably).
I don't invade other players, but the notes other players leave show up just fine. Nothing about online isn't working as intended.
It booted up the first time and every time since with no issues whatsoever. Runs fantastic.
It runs but looks very low-res and FPS is low despite good hardware and DLSS
Even with DLSS on at any setting and graphics set to the lowest - it looks very pixelated/low-resolution and the FPS is not even hitting 30. Despite that, it does run "fine" meaning I can do everything I normally can on Windows and it never crashed. Which is progress from last time. I'll continue to tinker and update this with my findings.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME=3080 %command%
Launch options identify my GPU and then it runs like a dream. Well done, Supergiant.
It runs perfectly for me. It ran the first time and every time since. No changes or anything need to be made.
As I write this, I only have just over 2 hours of gameplay. But so far it's been perfect. It starts up with no issues or tinkering needed. Audio is fine, controller works, it saves automatically without problems, and the graphics/frame rate is perfect.
Perfect. No Proton needed.
As it suggests; Portal (like most Valve titles) runs natively on Linux and you don't even need Proton.
Booted up once but never again.
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% --launcher-skip
I'm lucky if I get a temporary black full-screen as it attempts to launch, but it will eventually fail. Have tried ~30 times in the last two days. I'll keep trying but it doens't look good, unfortunately.
Flawless
The game can run natively. The developers have confirmed as much to me personally. But the amount of tinkering needed is impossible to tell. For me, it was none. But that will obviously vary.
