Audio only crackled if I tried to run the game through an HDMI to my television. If I just played it on the PC itself, audio was totally fine.
This game worked perfectly with zero issues for me out of the box.
Requires Windows Visual C++ Redistributable to run
Attempting to boot the game provides a popup that it requires Windows Visual C++ Redistributable to run. I'm sure you could run this with Lutris and Wine or whatever, but for just playing through Steam directly on Linux, it will not run.
Resolution settings do a strange thing where they lower if I'm playing handheld and then plug in to my TV in the same session, or vice versa. Just go into settings and change them back to what they need to be - simple but annoying.
Other than the small resolution change issue when changing modes of play, I've had 0 issues with this game over 40 hours. It's a great game for the Deck!
On default input settings, there's no key to rotate furniture. I just bound it to a button not in use and that fixed it.
This game is great on the Deck, zero issues and I like being able to just pick it up and put it down whenever!
Gameplay is identical to Windows gameplay. Experienced no problems with both multiplayer and singleplayer.
I've yet to figure out if this problem is because I'm using Linux or because of shortcomings of the game, but I haven't been able to connect to the Online Discovery Services that let you upload discovered planets and other stuff since I started playing on Linux. There's a chance that the servers are overloaded on the game's end, or it could be a problem I just don't know how to fix yet on my end.
Game works wonderfully and can be enjoyed with no hassle!
I've had zero issues with Palworld so far, and have been able to extensively play multiplayer on a private server with no issues as well. I've had one crash in 30 hours, but suspect that was a connectivity issue. This game works great!
Occasional stuttering that I didn't experience on Windows, but it was so light and so infrequent I barely noticed it.
Worked pretty much flawlessly for me with no additional steps or changes, just the basic install and play.
Had to force use of Proton Experimental for launching in game settings through Steam, otherwise it would launch to a black screen and not progress past that.
No problems encountered navigating menus, during gameplay, etc.
My loading times have been cut to around 1/4 of what they were when I'd play on Windows. Zero bugs or issues running on Linux, and I load way faster.
