Installs but won't launch
Was able to install the game and install origin but the game wouldn't launch
Proton-6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Using a standard Proton version will give you ping errors and you'll be booted. Used Proton-6.15-GE-2 and haven't ran into any connection errors
I've experienced fps drops but they could be a result of either shaders loading, background processes from Origin, or both.
Will be booted from games if you use standard proton, ping problems
Works out of the box but wasn't able to confirm online multiplayer. Very few people online to test
Runs very well but haven't tried coop
Game runs with no issues so far, I haven't tried multiplayer but other reports say good things. Will test eventually
Runs perfectly out of the box with very few bugs
When you minimize the window and return to the screen the cursor is de-synced with the in game cursor, it's easy to fix by clicking rapidly or minimize again.
If you want to invite someone you have to invite in origin otherwise you'll get an error in game
Borked
Hasn't worked with newest version of proton, proton GE, or experimental. From what I've read it seems to be a problem with "Arbiter.dll". Maybe there will be a fix down the road
Halo's just as good as it was years ago and is even better with a keyboard and mouse
Sometimes the game drops frames or momentarily freezes for 5 seconds during remastered gameplay
Can't play multiplayer due to the anti-cheat
every once in a while i'd crash after a game
with the acception of occasional crashes, the social games multiplayer works like it does on windows
Runs out of the box
In the game select menu I could barely hear the audio crackling. No audio issues in game
Proton-6.8-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Requires using newest Proton version by Glorious Eggroll: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.8-GE-2
Happens mostly when launching the game, the audio will occasionally stutter. In game it's less prevalent.
Occasional stuttering but recently added "DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%" in launch options to reduce it. So far it seems to fix the issue
So far I've only played ME1 but other reports say the other games run great. If the game doesn't launch when you first play it, wait a bit. The launcher is odd and seems like it's not working at first. Use bashtop/htop/atop to see if origin is launching.
Fun experience that "may" run out of the box
Occasionally in cutscenes audio would be cut off when another character speaks
When I tabbed out and opened the game it opened at a lower resolution but this was easily fixed when changing the resolution settings
Occasionally the frame rate dips but I'm not sure if that's due to Linux, my hardware, or because the game was made in a year.
Can't take any screenshots
I had trouble starting the game when using mesa 20.3.4-1, game wouldn't even start. After changing to Mesa-git 21.1.0 it started and ran with the occasional small issue. So keep that in mind if it fails to launch. I played multiplayer once and the frames chugged pretty badly, main campaign runs much better.
Runs perfectly
Occasional fps drops
Works out of the box, I get a few moments of fps drops. It improved as time went on and after reducing some settings. All and all plays great
Runs perfectly now
Proton 7.0-1 makes this game run perfectly. Could get 20-30 fps on lowest settings on 6.3-8, no I get 50-60 on the highest settings on newest version of proton. Superb
Had to use Proton GE to make a character, otherwise you won't see anything. Once I made one and beat the first mission I restarted using proton 6.3-6. After that the game ran perfectly and I was able to beat the game
Works out of the box
Intro cutscene doesn't play but it doesn't affect the overall game
Runs perfectly, just the intro cutscene doesn't play. Nothing that'll ruin the game
Works with a few instances of fps drops
Game seems to not want to full screen
Will experience occasional fps drops when entering new worlds or downloading new shaders.
No video support
Works perfectly, haven't had any serious networking issues
Assuming you have the specs, the game should run fine. Just keep in mind that new worlds and avatars will need resources to load and may slow the fps.
Like others suggested I changed the name of the file "v2game.exe" to "victoria2.exe" then went to properties and forced the use of Proton 4.11-13. Worked fine after that
Super fun
During some cutscenes the audio crackles for less of a second. Other then that there's no issues with audio.
Make sure your game says "save complete". It rarely happens but sometimes the game doesn't save so you'll need to save again until you see the "save complete" text.
Should have no issues running on latest version of proton, there are a few issues with audio rarely but someone's probably found a solution to this
Works out of the box
Every now and then the fps will drop
