I followed some instructions from L1ONH3ART (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2839130631).

Disabled FPS limit in Engine.ini (r.VSync=0) and let SteamOS limit it to 40FPS.
You have to install this mod to enable the Engine.ini files (https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/74).
This wiki page helped me (https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII_Remake_Intergrade). Same here (https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/139).
Works great with VSYNC disabled due to a small stutter every 1-2 seconds.
Game started right up with regular Proton as well as GE. Made changes to graphics and Decks performance options for input lag. Good overall.
Game Settings: (Framerate: Unlimited, V-Sync: No, Quality is high texture with low post-processing, AA, and effects, everything else was medium-ish settings)
Steam Deck Perf: (Framerate Limit: 40FPS, Refresh Rate: 40Hz, Allow Tearing: Enabled)
I found no issues with this game on my Deck. Just needed some graphics tweaking for 40FPS cap with 40hz and it was good to go. The Deck always has a bit of an input lag, especially for some of these larger games (Mortal Shell, Whicher 3, Nioh 2, ER). Still, I love playing anywhere I go and I'll take it.
SD card didnt' seem to effect load times or general performance at all.

Full Nioh 2 co-op from the map and work perfect! Who knew this game had such great co-op?
I haven't had any issues, but the 60 FPS cap during borderless is a bummer. Something to do with the way the game is rendered. In any case, the game works perfect so far (12H). Loving the online co-op with my friend who uses Windows.
There are a lot of controls to map and the community profiles take some getting used to. Otherwise, 60FPS in the open forest areas.

The right stick was way too sensitive. I lowered the Mouse Sensitivity to 100% for now.
Game runs at 20-30 FPS with default settings. Enabled FSR at balanced and selected Very Low for the other graphics settings. Had no issue getting 40+ after that.
I had to accept some window (EULA?), but that's it.
It's not horribly small, but it makes me squint at times.
Lag and stutters. Smooth most of the time, but it can get you killed.
Crashes on anything but Proton 7 (GE 7-55 in my case). Very Deck-able so far.
I needed this to smooth out some weird stuttering: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35
I used SteamTinkerLauch to install, run, and mod the game with Vortex. Mostly to fix level-based scaling issues. The game runs great for such a recent (shadow) release. No game-breaking bugs or stability issues so far.
