Using X11 since I can't use wayland because my video output on my secondary monitor is like 2fp(thanks nvidia)
Based on your monitor's refresh rate change the +fps_max 100
flag to +fps_max 144
or +fps_max 60
.
Don't be alramed if the game runs slow or laggy at first, the compability layer has to compile some shaders at startup but after a few minutes it goes away. If it still continues to runs slow, I recommend changing -medium to -low since that starts the game already in that graphics preference.
Don't forget to install EAC with the game (i think steam installs it by default).
At first i had problems with the game not starting due to the stupid EA app but I just deleted the game and reinstalled it and then it started working.
For a bit of time after pressing ESC my fps would cut in half. The same would happen after opening the season pass. After 20 hour of gameplay this 'bug' went away. Probably due to my configuration
Downloaded it, pressed play and the game ran as (i hope) intended. Played through the demo with no issues.
Im pretty sure its not my pc bottlenecking the game but it was running a bit sluggys sometimes. Still, extremely playable.
When I was first playing the game it was sluggys, more like slow motion. after a minute it went away and my user experience was really great
I would consider the game's performance better than on windows tbh since my pc doesn't overheat that much now while playing. I run the game on the highest settings and it runs perfect both on my 100hz monitor and 144hz laptop screen. I only played on FullHd(1920x1080). Using KDE plasma and X (wayland sux)
X11 Problems, changing resolution did nothing. Had to run the game with proton for it to work.
Some stuttering on the end of rounds
It's native it runs like how it is supposed to.
Some workshop item's shadows look a bit scuffed sometimes but not life changing. its really minor
I saw a guy trying to run it via proton like wtf man? its a native game, it just works.
Some stuttering happens on big explosions but thats normal in Postal 2
It just like on any other platform
Runs just as on windows
gamemoderun %command% -novid -dev -forcenovsync +cl_showfps 4 +fps_max 144 -low -preload
For some the game causes my onboard audio driver to crackle
When loading into games there is a 1/50 chance I crash, and also ingame. Also a few times i somehow managed to climbed into objects (walls, boxes) and that caused an instant crash
Runs smooth no problems, except some crashes
No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get it to even launch.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti" %command%
I was pasting around configs I saw, tried looking into logs, nothing works. I have not played in months and the latest update seemed to just break it.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti" PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% -dx11
I last played this game about 6 months ago and I was getting a playable 80 fps. Now after all these fancy updates they seemed to have changed some rendering and due to that I now barely get 45 fps
It's either my new os, or the tweaks I made on my graphics card over the last 6 months but the game runs horrible. I was watching my old replays and even while recording I had stable FPS and no drops. Now? It's all hell...
Even tho my hardware is pretty weak for a game like this it ran really great out of the box with a custom proton.
Proton-6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Game sits about 35-40 FPS Drops Significantly In-game. Unplayable but the game runs
%command% uplay://launch/2688/0 -eac_launcher -nosplash
Ubisoft's soydevs are lazy to implement EAC in linux. ( coughs r6..)
I would say expecting the game's multiplayer to work will likely never happen, maybe if gaming on linux gets more popular. But the game is too old anyways for ubisoft to give a flying fúck about it.
