Had the GOG version and I got the double input problem (1 external controler being read as player 1 and 2).
Got the Steam version (on sale for $3). It just works. Crap way to fix an issue, but works great now.
Running great out of the box. I own the game on Amazon Games and I was able to install it using Lutris
It is not possible to play with more controllers/players

After Aug, 2023 patch(or so) gamepad is not working. External controls ok. Screen keyboard also works.
Unplayable with deck's gamepad

Might run into issues if your system doesn't use systemd, but works great after adding symlink
As described, Broforce would start to a black or frozen screen with bits of the screen from prior to launch stuck all over the place. This was resolved ultimately.
I'm mostly guessing that systemd is what's missing from my equation. Installing the Linux version directly in Steam and launching it wasn't sufficient. I had to create the link mentioned in this report in order to launch the game and play normally.
Once that's done, the game plays flawlessly.
Works perfectly out of box.

Had some slowdowns when rendering explosions and fire, had to use Proton 5 to be able to play properly.
Both Linux versions and newer Proton versions had the bug that I mentioned
Works perfectly fine
Works perfectly fine
Runs awesome, no problems
native linux version runs just fine, gamepad works as expected, nothing bad to report here.

С неработающей кнопкой играть нереально. It is unrealistic to play with a broken button.
Кнопка влево на крестовине геймпада не работает. The left button on the D-pad does not work.
Bom jogo pra jogar localmente
Works out of the box without thinkering
Runs smooth at 60 FPS on 4 watts. Going below will cause the game to dip. If you're okay with 30 - 40 FPS you can run it on the lowest watt setting at 3
Good gamepad support out of the box. No tinkering needed.
It runs perfectly out of the box.
Perfect
Works out of the box !
Runs as smoothly as it does on Windows (which is to say: some lag in places where there are way too many particles)

Error on launch: "Failed to initialize player": "Failed to initialize graphics. Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed"
