Perfect
No issues, no tinkering required, install and play.
Perfect, no tweaks required.
Multiplayer has some desync issues, but it's something experienced by everyone in my play group and I have also seen it in Windows.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command%
In general crashes are rare, no more common then when playing in Windows.
Two major issues:
Launching the game is unreliable. Many times it works on the first try. However, sometimes I have to stop the game and re-launch several times before it works. The failures I see most often are a) nothing happening after the EAC splash or b) getting stuck on a white screen right after the game starts loading. This seems to be an EAC related issue as other users have reported it goes away with EAC disabled.
Steam overlay doesn't work unless Elden Ring is run in gamescope. However, gamescope seems to have a bug that causes more crashes then usual in Elden Ring, so I only use it while tinkering with my controller configuration. Launch options: VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr gamescope --adaptive-sync -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -e -- %command%
I mostly play with a co-op partner. Multiplayer can be a bit laggy, and there are sometimes issues connecting to the other player when summoned. However, it doesn't seem to be any worse then when playing in Windows. About half my current 98 hours were played in Windows.
I only need to set launch options to enable ray tracing or to fix the Steam overaly. Other then that the only tinkering required is enabling experimental proton.
Runs perfectly for me with no tinkering.
No issues
The game mostly worked nativly directly out of the box. Needs pipewire-alsa package installed to work with pipewire.
Had to install pipewire-alsa package to make audio work.
